KoA World Map (+enemy levels)

It's tough to remember all of the place names in a game like this, so I thought that having a copy of the world map here in the forum could be handy. Everything here can be found on the 'in-game' world map (besides the numbers) but having a visual image of it here could be helpful to reference to, or generally discuss.

Something that might be of interest to some people are the numbers, which depict the minimum and maximum level of enemies that can be found in each area.

The exact level of the enemies you face in each area is locked as soon as you first step foot into that area. Whenever possible, this 'level lock' will be identical to whatever level you are. However, if you're either below the minimum value, or above the maximum value, the level will lock at those minimum/maximum values.

Take 'The Sidhe' for example, which has a level range of 4-14.
- if you first enter The Sidhe at level 10, all of the enemies in The Sidhe will be level 10.
- if you first enter The Sidhe at level 2, all of the enemies in The Sidhe will be level 4 (the minimum level).
- if you first enter The Sidhe at level 18, all of the enemies in The Sidhe will be level 14 (the maximum level).

Once these levels are locked, they remain that way throughout the game, whatever level you may be. It should be noted that every dungeon and some other 'separate' important places (such as Shieldring Keep) have their own range of levels - the numbers shown on the maps are for the 'outside' areas only.

The quality of loot also works according to these levels. The higher the level of the area you're in, the better the quality of loot drops.

^Ha yeah, not entirely sure what to make of that... there're some dungeons (& House of Valor) that also have a max level of 99 or 100 so there must be some point in it.

As far as I'm aware at current, the level of the enemies never exceeds your own (with the exception of being under the minimum level of the area) so since we can only get to 40, I don't know how the enemies would get any higher than that anyway

I think the areas with enemies as high as level 99 are probably to help some people who might have missed getting the trophy "out of your league" earlier in their playthrough.

This could be a good thread to stack small info and player guides.

does a dungeon Level lock when I discover it or when I enter the actual dungeon? If anyone could clarify that for me I would really apreciate it.

ok so discovering a cave or dungeon won't lock it? Anyone have a definite answer I just don't want to Start a 3rd game.

When you get the max level for a certain area, will the set items be better or not even drop?

Yeah, I am a level 40 and I hit the dang level cap. But the bad thing is I hit it in the main story, which means when I got Legend of Dead Kel DLC I didn't get any experience points, nor when I just got the new one, teeth of marks. So yeah, it sucks, I should be at least 50 or better by now. I just finished Teeth of Naros, and boy are the finding awesome. The only complaint is my character is basically unharmable. My armor level is 1,616, 2,458 health, and 2,222 mama. My might abilities are maxed, and with all the health and mana regeneration properties on my weapons and armor, nothing I come up against came hurt me, much less kill me.
