Naw I still play games from all times on a regular basis, It is my main hobby aside from books and movies, and exercise. Which is why I am everywhere around Neoseeker's forum. I was heartbroken when Golden Sun's forum finally died, those were some good people. Which I believe was my initial draw to Neo.

As for Warriors Orochi... I only own the second one, and I'm a huge Koei fan, I own and play dynasty warriors 2-7 extreme legends. I particularly like Empires versions. I also own the dynasty warriors gundam franchise. However they don't change enough, so it gets harder and harder to justify buying them every time. Legends of Troy was a flop.

I don't know... It seems like some people are obsessed with change and rip on dynasty warriors and similar games and others are so stubborn about not changing that they wont even give Resident Evil 6 a chance because they think its changing too much, And are excited about Dead Space 3 which I am too but are disappointed because in order to even get the whole story you are forced to play co-op. And its also more action oriented.

Gamers are too damn jaded, its a wonder games manage to sell at all given all the hate and stupidness that comes out of there mouth.

Anyway I don't mean to rant but it irks me to hell that no one can enjoy a damn videogame anymore they have to act like they are deep and intelligent and pick apart everything like they are a reviewer or something, and then it scares away other people because all they hear is the negative and then what? it doesn't sell and the franchise dies... Thank god for new IPs I suppose.

Lol admittedly she isn't exactly the most talked about character in Rotk, a copy of which I also own in mobi form for my kindle. It is a huge book so I read a chapter or two, if they can be called that, once and awhile.

Indeed, after all Resident Evil 4 took of famously because of the changes in gameplay.

Currently playing the massive games known as Star Ocean... particularly 3 and 4, 3 being having the moniker "Till the End of Time" and it takes about that long to beat it... beat the last boss at about 109 hours...

If I remember correctly Sun Shang Xiang (Sun Li), also used to fight.

And its funny that the greater area of Laos, Vietnam, and Thailand were mentioned as the kingdoms of the Nanking. considering they were not technically part of china at any point.Unless its part of the Mongol Empire which may or may not have been part of it, documents can't agree.

A game where you start off usually as an Earthling except the first one in which you are a Fellpool (which is a type of humanoid cat person. Evolution almost always leads to humanoid peoples but not always. Humans are of course descended from apes, as the fell pool are descended from a type of cat, the Vendeeni are descended from some type of alien shark, Featherfolk are various humanoids with wings descended from a lot of sources on various planets.

Anyway you are usually a futuristic human with pretty advanced technology but then you are stranded or something on a primeval planet or whose highest technology is usually about the medieval level, and you being there is against intergalactic law and at some point universe defying aliens with technology so advanced that it seems like magic and even the fairly advanced Earth Federation is completely or at least partially defenseless against such a threat. Then you proceed to obtain something to give you a chance against said killer enemies and then beat them down with swords and magic, sometimes guns and like too.

You can trace such lines along every game but they usually differ vastly aside from that. And the Party usually numbers in the double digit by the time your at the end game. Every character can form bonds with other characters or the main chracter and there tons of dialogue and lore... so much in fact it has an encyclopedia in-game that can take a few hours to read when its completed, thats what I love so much about it actually.

Magic is also not technically magic either, to use magic the skin all the way down to the DNA is imprinted with certain symbols and sometimes its a natural occurrence and sometime artificial. but it doesn't function like normal magic. Yes, it has an MP gauge but the magic isn't magic, its actually the user slightly or massively changing the laws of the world on a quantum level. For instance to create fire they cause the atoms in the air to move extremely fast to create a spark and them throw it at them as it continues to heat up. Or to Heal it either changes the laws of time temporarily to let that particular part of the body to heal faster, or in rarer cases it actually turns back time in that particular sphere of space. So the magic is just REALLY cool science. At least thats what I understand from it.

Sorry for ranting but I thoroughly enjoy these games. The series as a whole is in my 3rd favorite slot of all time.

They certainly did travel a long way south into 'uncharted territory' during the whole subduing of the Nan tribes section - I have no clue as to exact geographical locations of it all, but nah, it wouldn't surprise me if some of it happened on the border or outside of China. On the other side, some of the later Gongsun tribes must've been pretty close to Korea too after having pulled back so far from the Wei dominion.

You can't forget the Ma clan up there in mongol territory...

It seems except for the odd post, that KoA is done for here as well... Kinda sad.

Interesting how a GD tends to start very much on the forum's game and then branches out into wherever and whatever but I guess that's it's purpose ultimately

Looking at the map, it seems to be that the border of China extends quite a bit north of where most of the 'three kingdoms' stuff took place, but the Ma/Xi Liang lot certainly did inhabit a vast area and then you've got all of those Qiang tribes too. Kinda awesome how there're such different cultural/military people all within the same country, influenced by the neighbouring peoples and geographic location etc
I'm a big fan of Ma Teng and his people; following 'home made' characters, it's he and his forces that I typically pick to be first in the Empires games and I love coming into contact with them in Dynasty Tactics too


Edit: Ah, cool the_FAMAS_pro - Personally, it's not a track I'm that fond of what with it being largely rap based but Lost In The Echo does seem to be a favourite of quite a few people so seems to have been rather successful nevertheless I do love the imagery in the vid and of the album overall.

Naw I still play Artirtico I just don't play everyday, usually dip in once and while during any given week, but its summer and its time for fun up in the northern hemisphere lol. Then everytime I play KoA, I get the distinct reminiscent feeling of Fable II and III, so I want to go and play that too.

I am thinking about starting completely over and marathoning it for a day and then move on again. Was thinking about getting a game called Too Human, that looks a lot like KoA but came out like 3 years ago for the 360. I'm also doing a 'perfect' run through of Dragon Age 1+2, KOTOR 1+2, Mass Effect1-3, Overlord 1+2, and one of my personal favs, Valkyria Chronicles...

So in addition to keeping my woman happy and enjoying Summer, and work, I have all those games to perfect. Oh and my car needs work so I'm probably gonna tune the thing up personally, AND I'm starting some college here in a little bit, AAAAANNND Theres rumor going around that the MP unit I'm attached to is going to be deployed as a garrison in South Korea, so I have to make sure the MOPP gear and protective masks so my plate is quite full. Yet I still find time to just relax and enjoy a brewski and a steak. I am way too busy for a 21 year old during summer lol.

Its a shame you don't like it though... I would like it much better if it came out for the PS3. Most of mine are xbox games and usually the only reason I get 360 games is either for exclusives or I need to round out my games so that its not so heavily weighed toward my PS3.

360 = 14
PS3 = 50+


As for there being a lot of Action RPGs its pretty meh, most arent that great except Star Ocean, KoA, Fable, etc... And then for some reason they are biased toward the 360 for some reason. Whereas the PS3 is geared more toward almost all the other types.

I forgot I'm also rebeating Fire Emblem too... damn.

As for college its more along the lines of knocking out the required basic classes, unlike everyone else I know who had parents to pay and house them I was completely on my own by 17 so I'm just no scrounging money together to pay for classes, The GI bill, that I am entitled to from my deployment will take me through at least a bachelor degree, up to a master or a doctorate if I deploy again. I have a pretty kickass job as it is though, so unlike many people this is merely a formality on my part or a fallback in case my other job falls through or something. So by that I actually don't know what I will go for... Some type of Chemistry or medical thing, don't know if my memory is good enough for either though but its virtually free to try in my case so why not.

Lucky you, Pennsylvania just had a record highs last week and 2 heat storms that knocked out electricity. It was 111 degrees Fahrenheit with 45% humidity, it was atrocious and I was outside elbow deep in my car's engine ... The old record was 104 degrees... geez Global Warming to the extreme. Funny since we had a bunch of record cool temperature too. wanna switch for a day?

Hell yeah brother! This should put you somewhere in the stratosphere... movin on up! You know I seriously contemplated getting a part time job at a local library, just so I could essentially get paid to read except for the occasional book lent out. But I opted for another higher paying job and bought a kindle instead. I still have quite the plethora of books though... mostly science fiction, high fiction or space operas. Reading a series of books titled by James Lovegrove right now titled The Age of (whatever) I'm on Odin but there is Ra, Zeus and Aztec. Quite good and a definite recommendation. Was also rereading The Sword of Truth series again but with my schedule as it is my reading is the thing that has suffered the most.

A fantastic career offer was opened to me today... as an assistant stock broker... to be perfectly honest that shit scares me but I think I might go for it. Debating though. Any knowledge on the subject? I'm somewhat versed as I have about 5000 American dollars in the Reading railroad shipping company and it does well except when that movie called "Unstoppable" came out and people got scared lol. but its is even better than ever now. I like that movie actually.

I know... I used to feel about that temperature in Afghanistan but with no humidity. Sadly the hottest was when we were laid over in Kuwait... 2am on July we got off the plane at Kuwait International airport and we all thought the heat was just from the plane turbine being on still we moved way past that and it still felt really bad... 98 degrees at 2am!!! noon the next day it was up to 116 and if you wanted a shower you had to use piping hot water from the tanks sitting in that blistering sun and then you covered in sweat by the time you walk a 1/2 mile to your personal layover tenet... The AC is blasted inside most places and it was still on the upper 80s... sweet mother of god that was a bad time. I can't imagine what the guys deployed there must feel. but then again they were mostly air force which only get 3 month deployments and we (the Army) got 12 month deployments on average. I saw a guy that had been in Bagram Afghanistan for 3 and a half years straight... crazy dude too...

And no fair I want RAIN dammit!!! though to be fair it did drizzle here today.
