Good to know that you're enjoying the game and that the 'trial' lead to you buying it spartanninja11 haha.
The most basic advise I can give is just to try things out; weapons, abilities etc, see what suits you best. I struggled a bit initially as I really wasn't feeling the Daggers/Staff/Longsword etc - everything felt right as soon as I picked up Faeblades and Chakrams Having already tried the game out, I imagine you've already got ideas on what you like most though anyway.

thanks for the advice as it were. Yeah I don't usually download games like that but i wasn't gonna rent or buy the game at release price to try it, and demos are either way better or way worse than the actual game. Funny story i went in to gamestop to pick up my preordered vita and get KOA and i mentioned that i just got back from deployment ad they game me the preorder goodies for free. love those guys. But yeah anyway theres really no advice you can give... you basically have to do trial and error until you find what works for you in that situation. I started with warrior type, figured it would be simple and easy and end up respecing myself every so often between warrior/rogue and warrior/mage, more or less anything with heavy armor. But thanks for the help anyway.

Hello! Name's Abyss Raider, and I just have to say I'm loving KoA. I always play the thief/rogue/ranger/summoner (in that order) character in a game if there is one. In this game, I decided to rock a Rogue/Mage hybrid, and I think that they did extreme justice to this class (upon all others, too.) I've been loving this game since I made my first step out of the Well of Souls. I'm just a huge fantasy nerd that loves to play games, collect swords, and just get along with anyone I can!

Ah, nice to see another fan of the Chakrams! They're just epic to fight with and look pretty stylish too

Hey there! When it comes to the blacksmithing/crafting approach on the game, what you're doing is pretty much what you want yes There are a few great purples & golds littered throughout the game but overall the crafted gear will end up being the best stuff if you've got the good components to use for it. It likely isn't necessary to salvage everything else - Whites for example will only ever give you the main core component or a load of the most basic stuff, so unless you're in need of that such core component, you may as well sell it, since the gold would be more useful. It then comes down to salvaging the Greens and Blues that contain good components, of which you gradually pick up on what you're able to obtain from them.

Oh there's no age limit on gaming, and it very much sounds like by getting you to try, they've unleashed the 'inner gamer' in you haha. I've previously talked my Mum into trying out a few games and in a couple of cases, she's become completely hooked; I think it's something that's hidden away in everyone


Regarding the Quest in Ysa (and in killing the goodies in general), you need to go into 'Aggressive mode'. It depends on which system you're playing the game on as to exactly how you do this but basically, when you're in 'Stealth mode' and you position yourself close behind a 'goody', a prompt should appear on screen (a little skull I believe), telling you to press something to enter 'Aggressive mode'. On the PS3, it's triggered by pressing the button on the D-pad and I think that's the same on the Xbox, and looking up the PC controls, it's entered by pressing 'H' apparently.
Ah, and be sure to carry out the assassination discreetly! Attacking a goody when in view of others will trigger them or some guards to arrest or even attack you, so it's best to be sneaky about it hehe
