An update to that, While Whedon and Feige both continued to say there wasn't going to be an extra scene filmed, Mark Ruffalo later confirmed that RDJ was indeed telling the truth:

“We’re shooting a scene tonight. I’m not sure exactly where it’s gonna go. All I know is that someone came in with the costume and said, ‘Here’s some wardrobe. We don’t know where you’re going to be or what you’re doing.’ ” Ruffalo said. We asked if it will be in the “The Avengers” when it hits theaters Ruffalo added, “Yeah. So I’m like, ‘All right, when are we doing that?’ Today after we’re done.”

Then Feige denied that Wright filmed anything for Marvel:

He did not. But I saw that tweet as well and thought, “Did he do something for us? No?” No, it wasn’t for us. But pay attention to his tweets in the coming months; that answer might change.

Oh come on, this is screaming an Ant-Man tie-in. If it doesn't, kind of disappointing, but if it is, it'll make the movie that much sweeter. But it's cool that Feige gave an update on Wright regarding Ant-Man, even if it wasn't much of an update. Coming months, green-light that Ant-Man into production for a 2013-2014 release already!

I know it's the norm for you guys but I'd hate to be in a US theatre where people actually chat and clap and stuff. Over here it's dead silent, especially for a midnight release but everyone is so excited and intense.

My day today: Two and a half hours of sleep. Woke up at 5:30 AM, got ready, headed out to the subway for a about an hour traveling time. Made it to the theater by about 7-ish AM. Waited in line, cold and all, nothing in my system, until 9:30 AM when the crowd was finally being brought in. Before going into the theater we had to check in any recording device capable of recording. In short, a lot of lining up and waiting, not to mention they started the film about 45 minutes late due to the lines being one-by-one with everything. Finally home, back killing me, headache a-blazin', slowly munching on a bagel, first meal of the day...was it worth it? Hell yes. And I'd do it all over again to see this film.

The crowd...was actually pretty decent this time around. Different from the midnight showing crowds, no doubt about it. They behaved, and didn't draw out their reactions.

Now, without spoiling anything...I'd say that the feeling of the team is present. The conflicts, the rather complex relationships, the history...I didn't think they'd be able to pull off so much going on in one film in the allotted time. Thinking back on it, I can see where some moments could have been fleshed out a bit more, but for the sake of a 2-hour film, for a larger target audience, it was better off this way. The movie kept up with drama, humor, action...the overall pacing marched on rather nicely. Ruffalo worked well as Banner. I was skeptical at first but he did a great job.

Oh and there was nothing after the end-credits. There's a scene after the initial credits, which I liked for them to cut to the chase with. So about a minute in when you see the credits rolling, the scene will appear.

There's some bits I'd critique on, but I'll save those minor irks on account that I'm still super excited post-screening.

Just going to throw a few scenes in spoilers. I'd advise against reading the box until you see the film. Even if you won't see the film for a year or so (though I have no idea why you'd wait that long!).


Oh and let me just say...the scenes they showed in trailers and tv spots? Tip of the iceberg. Don't worry, there's plenty more to offer.

Did I mention that I saw this in I-MAX 3D absolutely free? Yep, definitely freaking worth it.

There's a few parts that come at you a bit. But it also wasn't blurry. I'd say more like Toy Story 3 was. Just two or three in your face parts.

I have rarely experienced people doing this in the theaters I have been to, and I go to the movies a LOT. Not saying it doesn't happen, but I wouldn't say it's the "norm."

I hear ya about that Thor fight. Kind of in your face upon visiting that site, but in all honesty, did you not expect it? I'm sure a lot of the team will be fighting each other at different times of the film. Hell, I know for a fact that both you and I are hoping for that one scene between Thor and said character. You know what I'm talking about.

As far as my midnight showing experiences have been, there will be tons of fanboys, sure, but we will be cheering/laughing/clapping and all that fun stuff. All the Marvel films last summer were a blast. Thor/Caps/Xmen. Midnight showings like those are what make them worth it. The theater experience needs more excitement, in my opinion, and these packed midnight shows provide it. TDK was more mellow because, while being awesome, it's a more serious film - and I'm sure the same will apply to TDKR. The crowd won't be as rowdy, but it'll be just as packed with fanboys and girls anticipating the final installment of the Nolan trilogy.

Well yeah it was a given, I mean, trailers and TV spots have shown Iron Man, Thor and Cap all fighting amongst each other, but to just blurt it out in that header at CBM.com when no footage has been shown of the two fighting was just a bullshit thing to do. Especially no spoiler warning. It was like they figured it was common knowledge, when it's not. Eff that site until this movie comes out.

I watched Thor last night and was reminded that Thor destroyed the bridge portal. Storm, simple yes or no, does this movie address how Thor gets back to Earth? Is it due to that object Nick Fury shows Selvig at the end of the post-credit scene, Natalie Portman figuring out how to make the portals work, plot-hole? I must know!
