	Yay, finally. I didn't really get a chance to watch it in the cinemas - too interested with the other releases but I knew I missed this one big time and sadly for me it was a painful regret. I hope to buy this on DVD, or maybe even rent it.

	Thanks for the DVD release date, Lavitz. Trying to decide if I am going to purchase this outright (unwatched) or rent it and then buy it based on my viewing. Watching Superman 1 & 2 will help you understand the film a little bit better, but are not required, Ultimate Link.

	This is even better a second viewing. Since you know what to expect you can appreaciate it more. So much more nostalgic than I had originally realized. Great for fans of old and awesome for fans of new to the superhero. I've watched it twice on DVD this week and wished I'd have seen it more than once in theater, despite it's long running time. -------------------

	Anyone else check out the extras? (assuming you purchased the special edition version.) Decent stuff, especially the early screen test with Routh. However Bryan Singer almost ruins all the behind the scenes. Something about that guy makes him one of the most annoying people you'll ever listen to. -------------------

	I saw it yesterday and i thought it was suprisingly decent. To me superman is a cheezy hero, so thus i was expecting a crappy movie. I was suprised to say i actually kinda liked it. Its got its moments. ------------------- youtube.com/camb1986

	this movie sucked ass becuase they tried to make it as dark and epic as Batman Begins, which obviously cannot be touched when it comes to comic to movie adaptations since its easily the best comic movie ever made.

	That comparison really doesn't work in no way are these two movies the same tone. I didn't see Superman returns trying to be "dark", if anything it tried to keep with some of the similar feel to the Chris Reeve Supermans. One area it varied was maybe Lex Luthor he was more jaded in this one and they played on his prison time really affecting his demeanor. Theirs really no way to make Superman dark he's not that type of character, and comparing him to Batman isn't going to work. I think your feelings towards batman had you looking for something that wasn't there. I wouldn't go with dark, I said more dramatic and less campy than the early Supermans -------------------
