I dont know about anyone else but once she said that she could see colors when on the resting rock i thought they were going to feed off of that, and it would have a major role with the ending... but apparently not.

I was looking to ask ya'll if I should see this movie. I thought Sixth Sense and Unbreakable were pretty good. Signs was disappointing, but I really like Shamamamalans movies. Should I see this one?

If you're looking for a thriller, the answer would be no. Despite Mr. Viper's little brother's thoughts, the movie was not all that scary (save for the crescendos in the score) and lacked the plot development, in my mind, of both the Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. It's definitely not on par with those two films in my mind, however everyone has a different taste. I still enjoyed it, it just didn't seem like the horror flick I had made it out to be in my mind before I went to the theater.

Nope, it wasn't scary at all. As you said in the above post, once you know what the whole thing is about, you just CANT get scared. I hope his next movie is at least a little scary. I was expecting to go to the theater and see a movie like his 3 before this one. That didn't happen though.. ><

I went in also expecting a horror, but my hopes were definately fullfilled after watching this movie.

This movie was absolutely brilliantly written, so what if it wasn't an over the top thriller...It still had it's tense moments. It was definately a movie that made you think throughout the whole thing, and couldn't have been done this well by anyone BUT M. Night.

One thing I don't understand is this; M. Night ALWAYS plays an important role in his own movies, brief but very important, so what was the big deal with the end scene when he was reading the newspaper? It focused in on it for quite a long bit of time, but I couldn't put my finger on what was so important about it....?

The cameo was important because it emphasized the fact that no one should bother the Village. It's supposed to be this blissful ignorant experiment.

What in the world did that have to do with the newspaper they focused in on for so long?

aaah yea that makes sense. That's exactly what those people in the village were escaping. M. Night did an excellent job at covering up the fact that this movie was in our present day, i seriously thought throughout the whole movie that it was set in the late 1800's. Although the only thing that got to me was, that those costumes were quite advanced for the time period. I never thought that they could have costumes that look so much like minotaurs back in the 1800's.
