	actually girl interrupted is a book, written by a woman based on her time in a a mental home so there! they only based a film in it. they are similar. mainly for the 90's mental home thing, except jack nicholson is only pretending to be insane! ------------------- Say hello to my little friend..

	I saw this movie for the first time a few years ago and I must say I wa in love. The movie at first I thought would be boring but then again what Nicholson movie ever really is. He played the part well and the ending was sad but still good. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see a really good movie. Girl Interrupted was good too, but I still feel this movie was better. While it was older it stayed more in focus of a regular joe living in a place like that and having to deal woth those psychos as well as Nurse Ratchet. Can someone tell me why he got pissed at Nurse R? I don't remember anymore. My VCR is busted so I an't watch it. ------------------- The Way of the Cholo has returned. Let us celebrate the way. 	because the nurse gave that one kid such a guilt trip about 'sleeping with' that girl and then threatened to tell his mom(of which she was a friend of) that the kid killed himself. jack's character knew the nurse really stepped over then line and that the nurse was the direct cause of him commiting suicide, so he tried ot kill her ------------------- Jesus is coming, put he pulls out.

	This is really a special film, and one of those movies that I own and actually watch about once a year. It's one of only three films in history to sweep the Oscars. (Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Actress)

	Having never seen the movie I bought this last week. This was a brilliant film. I didn't expect the ending to be so sad, especially with the final night. I haven't hated a character so much for a long time like I did Nurse Ratchet, about half way through I got really agitated and impatient with her thinking that McMurphy would show her the light. It took me until the fishing trip to release the short guy was Danny DeVito . I got so into at the end I was even shouting 'Go on! Go on!' at Chief when he was ripping the sink out of the floor. 	This jumped way up high on my list right after viewing because the picture it painted was simply so effective. The DVD did not work well, so I had to stop eject the disk numerous times during the film. That just ended up being an aesthetic disturbance and took little away from the overall effect, especially looking back now. I was kind of haunted for days by the end, by what happened to the McMurphy character. I don't really need to say anything because everyone who's seen it knows and everyone who hasn't should be surprised when watching it. It's just so disturbing, the condition that mental institutions were in for so many years. People who weren't per say insane got committed, due to depression or autism or something of the like. Things and treatment have gotten better, but it still seems like a historical wound that would take a long time to heal. It makes me want to read the book, which is apparently narrated by the Chief, giving a more interesting perspective I would guess. ------------------- lifeadelica.com

	I watched this for a second time and it was even more moving. This is one of my most favorite movies now. The cropped environment shown in the mental institution is hardly interacting with the outside world, yet its own little machine. Fletcher and Nicholson are both stunning on the screen, the process of Fletcher's actions especially. I went back and looked for bad reviews to see what people could dislike about it, and the main complaints were that it failed as a novel adaptation because of certain differences. I am now going after the novel. I have to write a paper on it also, about key themes of rebellion and how the characters change. Shouldn't be that hard. Um, see this. 	I was supposed to read the book over the summer, but I got lazy and never read past the first few chapters. I just found out there was a movie version, so I watched it...and it has got to be one of the best films I've ever seen. I'm just sitting here in awe after having watched it, thinking of what I could possibly say to somehow qualify its excellence in words. Shit, I mean, the ending was so perfect, and yet you wouldn't see it a mile off from just having watched (or read) the beginning. Definitely one of the better movies I've seen. I should probably read the book. -------------------
