Ouch, I hope things work out because this looks to be an interesting dark action flick.

dang this movie looks good! in the first 10 seconds of the preview I thought it was a trailer for The Crow 4 or something but damn, i'm impressed by this movie. + the girl looks hot!

Court Awards Expedited Injunction Hearing to
WHITE WOLF and NANCY A. COLLINS in "Underworld" Suit
Atlanta, GA, 10 September 2003–White Wolf, Inc. and Nancy A. Collins yesterday appeared in court yesterday with their attorneys in an effort to get legal relief from Sony Pictures', Screen Gems' and Lakeshore Entertainment's alleged copyright infringements in their upcoming film Underworld.
Judge J. Owen Forrester did not grant the requested temporary restraining order, citing a handful of mitigating circumstances, most notably the plaintiff's inability to post a bond in excess of ten million dollars. Judge Forrester, however, did call for an expedited discovery period (lasting 30 days) and enabled the plaintiffs to have a preliminary injunction hearing thereafter. Judge Forrester also outlined his policy on fairness in his courtroom and cautioned Sony Pictures against using "big business" delay tactics.
If the injunction is granted, defendants risk their ability to proliferate the Underworld brand in video, licenses and merchandising. "I believe our attorney presented a strong case yesterday," said Mike Tinney, President of White Wolf. "The Judge had done his homework, asked a lot of smart questions, and commented that plaintiffs appeared to have made a valid argument for copyright infringement. For a small company like White Wolf and an individual plaintiff like Ms. Collins, this acknowledgement is very heartening."

r & btw, so what if it's got vampires vs. werewolves? is that really an infringment on whitewolf? I played a little white wolk in junior high but see no direct rip off of the whitewolf series... but if there were nerdy highschoolers rolling dice playing vtm, wta, etc... i could the problem

I just saw this movie with some friends and I loved it. The idea behind the plot was great. My friends said it kind of sucked but I really liked it. I definitely recommend anyone to go see it.

I liked the idea of the movie having vampires vs. werewolves but there's a little more to the movie than just that. The leader of the werewolves bites this human guy so that he would turn into a werewolf and help their side defeat the vampires and their resurrected leader, Victor. They choose to bite that particular human because he is the first born and has both wolf and bat genes inside him. The reason they have the war is because of something that happened a long time ago involving both leaders of the factions. The leader of the werewolves was in love with Victor, the leader of the vampires' daughter.

Anyway the last fight scene kicked ass. The only bad thing about the movie was it moved into the plot too fast. I definitely foresee a sequel after seeing the ending.

Actually there is 17 counts of infrigment by Underworld on White Wolf's WoD. My wife writes for them and speaks with many other authers there as well. The case is valid.

acturally he has pure vampire genes untill luccia bit him, but yeah i just saw it and it was great.
