Rotten TomatoesSaw this last night (after hearing about its UK Blu-Ray release and Golden Miru Warrior bringing it up), and it was really great. I'm really surprised it isn't talked about more, especially today, as it seems there's far more in this that modern audiences would appreciate than in most other samurai movies from the same era (Kurosawa's work included), with non-linear storytelling, lots of twists, brutal and bloody sword fights, and a message that's potent but not ambiguous. If movies like Yojimbo or Throne of Blood bore you this is definitely worth a look.
