	You have to remember, cinema films DO have limits. They can't make it too long, or people will leave. In fact, I noticed some people getting up and leaving as soon as the Ring was destroyed. I feal for Jackson, and the rest of the editors. Think of how hard it was to decide on what and what not to put in ROTK... I'm sure if they could've, they would have put every single detail from the book in the film.

	Well if you look back he even admits he wanted to put the Tom Bombadil seen in the first movie but it was just to long and not significantly important to the story so he decided not to film it. I was a little disapointed that they didn't show Grimmer throwing the Palatia or the battle for the shire. 	One thing I hope that's included in the EE are the Easterlings. They looked so cool in The Two Towers. I love their armor. I've heard they were cut out of RotK due to time restraints of course. Im completely sure the Paths of the Dead and the battle at Pelanor will be longer in the EE. PJ always said that he keeps battle sequences as short as possible in the theatrical releases because he feels that the audience will get bored. He also wants to keep focus on the main character instead of some unnamed Gondorian soldiers getting slaughtered by hoards of orcs.

	I loved this movie so much! I read the books about a year before the Fellowship came out and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. I feared they may ruin many possibly good scenes in ROTK but they didn't They kept in the the comedy between Gimli and Legolas which was good as it could possibly stop people get bored(dunno how that movie could bore them though!) and I really liked the WitchKing nad thought he was suitable for Saurons deadliest servant. Too bad they didn't show the slaying of Sarumon and another thing that dissapointed me was that when they went home the Shire was exactly the same as before, wtf!? it was meant to have turned into a huge industrial place ruled by Sarumon! ------------------- Credit to Memento Mori

	Well that was the way it was written in teh book. It just demonstrates Gollums desire for the ring. He had such need for the ring that he would go to any length. He was even willing to die for it. 	Yeah, cause after he lost his finger Frodo still tried to get it off Gollum and then when Gollum falls you see him in joy because he has the ring....even if he is going to die! I liked it when the fired the catapult at the orc(that according to my sis looked like a roasted marshmallow!) and he just moved to the side and spat on it when all the other orcs ran away! ------------------- Credit to Memento Mori

It actually talks about going to Valinor, and the end of their journey. Kinda sad. Sounds like an elven song. 	I'm going to have to agree with _Snuff, I've seen all of the movies, and yet I still can't stand any of the movies. I guess it could be that I can't stand movies that have either dragons, elves or wizards. It's just too hyped up.

	Well if your not keen on fantasy then LOTR is definitly not for you, no matter how hyped it might be. The movie was genuinly better than some movies this season. Matrix was a bigger disappointment, and I actually liked the way that ended. LOTR was basically what I expected very little from the books was left out and almost every major event was covered. I just hope the battle for the shine is in the extended edition. The hobbits aren't supposed to return to a prefect Shire. Usually if you go into a theather with high expectations you come out disappointed. However after 2 movies we should have all known what to expect from PJ. Plus if you read the book you knew what to expect from the story. Then what you were looking for is the directors interpretation. 	Stop hoping, for the last time...The Scouring of the Shire wont happen! It was deemed too "anti-climatic" for the film and was never shot, thus it wont appear on the EE:ROTK. Unless by some miracle New Line gives in to fan support, P.J. drops all plans to start his King Kong remake and goes back and films the scene, you wont see it so everyone give up with the "I hope it's in the EE version". You want to see the Scouring, then put in Fellowship of the Ring...when Frodo has a vision of the shire burning, that's as close to the Scouring of the Shire as you'll ever get >_< -------------------

	Don't worry. The Scourging of the Shire will be in the RotK 10 year anniversary addition. Come on! You know it's going to happen. Im satisfied with the movie even without the good old Shire burning. Anti-climatic or not. Omitting this small chapter in the LotR doesn't affect the story one bit. Btw, I want my Easterlings! Hope they are in the EE.
