A sequel to Nolan's Batman would be shit with JGL as the new "Batman". In virtually every scene involving JGL, the hints were all over the place of him becoming Nightwing seeing as he always wore blue & black clothing and because he was just an obvious annoying side-kick.

But as it stands, people are so high up on that ending in TDKR, but I thought it was complete garbage. Why? Because JGL was simply a hot-headed police officer, with no training to do what it takes to be The Batman regardless what moniker you want to call him. No training how to be "invisible". No training how to fight off and disarm multiple armed men at once. Look at when he was held at gun-point and was about to be executed. How did he survive? Batman saved his ass. So what if he helped take down one of the armed guards. He only did so because he sucker punched him as the guy was distracted by Batman himself, all after he was on his knees, eyes closed, awaiting that bullet to pass through his skull and kissing his ass goodbye.

This is the line Liam Neeson spoke to Christian Bale while they were training on the ice in Batman Begins over why it was his father's fault for his parents murder. The will to act is important, but regardless, Bruce would never have been able to accomplish being the Batman without this training first and foremost. The will to act will only get you so far, and that path would only lead you to an early grave.

Why death? Because everyone other than Batman who attempted to step up to thugs, the mob and super-villains ala Joker and Bane were killed. It's that simple. They all died. If Bruce is gone, who the *bleep* is going to train JGL's character? Absolutely no one. There isn't anyone around. He'll essentially be one of those sloppy copy-cats that were shown at the beginning of The Dark Knight or the ones Joker killed off throughout the film, except JGL wont be wearing a hockey mask. He'll still be a copy-cat with just better tech and gear. He was a waste for the entire three hour film, but because he found the batcave, all of you jump on the wagon that now he's ready to become the Batman and replace Bruce Wayne. Excuse me while I laugh my ass off at your expense. It's a stupid plot hole in a list of plot holes that were all over TDKR. Perhaps if Nolan had a better vision how to end the film and do a proper passing of the torch, like if he was involved with the fourth film, to explain how JGL got his training, then I'd be more open to the idea. But he's not. He he created one huge cluster*bleep* by killing off Bruce Wayne. So hopefully someone else has some balls and does The Dark Knight Returns or Batman Beyond and has a retired Bruce Wayne come back from the dead and put the suit back on and help train Nightwing. But they wont. Because they wont be able to get Christian Bale back to do another. TDKR was absolutely trash in comparison to the other two films from Nolan and I'm glad if this gets completely rebooted. An entire new trilogy, with an entire new cast of actors having no ties to the other trilogy. That faux poster only confirms one thing, the dummy who created it forgot one important aspect.... the one thing Batman/Bruce actually did try to teach JGL in the movie... conceal your identity and wear a *bleep*ing mask. /dodson.

I can see your point, but with some of the imagery with Blake at the end I went back to the general theme of the "Dark Knight Rises. (He rose on the platform in the bat cave) Bruce was beaten down and rose, the city thinks batman died, but with Blake he'll rise again one day. He's a trained police officer, and yes he needs more training but with no immediate threat I didn't see at as he'll be right back out their fighting crime. Bruce was gone for quite awhile when he was training the same may happen for Blake. Even after Bruce came back he, Fox, and Alfred had some mishaps, such as suit design failed jumps from rooftops etc. The bag with the gps that helped him find the bat cave was left for him, presumably by Bruce lending credence that a plan was in place. Throw in possible help from Fox and he could become a respectable Batman one day

King, I took that into consideration when ranting that Bruce was sloppy his first outing as "Batman" (when he went to visit Gordon for the first time, before he got the cape for spelunking. lol), but still... he had all that proper training with League of Shadows, how to appear and disappear at will. Which is how he got to Gordon's window and then disappeared, or at least tried to before Gordon looked out the building and saw him climbing the fire escape. lol. Yeah, the next film could take place 10 years or more after the events of TDKR, the entire time Blake could be training... but who is there to teach him these critical skills? Even at another stretch, I kept thinking Bruce would have set up some sort of contingency plan, like a computer program to teach him, but then I thought, no that's stupid, it should be Bruce himself teaching him, an oversight on Nolan for "killing" Bruce off and having him retire to Italy.
