The ONLY reason I suggested replacing TLA's rule thread was because I didn't know the extent of his departure and whether or not he was coming back, and to me, it didn't make sense to have his rules thread, written and signed by him, dictating the forum. Sure, everything in it is common sense, which made it difficult rewriting the thing, but I just felt like it made sense to change it.
His still exists, locked and sitting on a page somewhere deep in the forums, awaiting his inevitable return to the throne.
Point being? I'm aware it came out after Inception, and again, I liked him better in it. I'm a bandwagoner because he was in a blockbuster flick that I didn't care for him as much in? #tryharder
If its a summer blockbuster that gets him noticed by the masses, then so be it. He's not the reason I went out to see Warrior, but he was damn good in it.
Keep dickriding Nolan and treating every actor to appear in his movies as God-tier. It's laughable.
LMAO, who's even talking about Nolan? He hasn't come up ONCE in this discussion! It's because Hardy has been in two of his films, the first one being the one in which put him in the spotlight. That same film I claimed to have liked him less in when compared to Warrior, where he REALLY shined. Had I seen him in anything else he starred in before Inception, you wouldn't be so butthurt about it - but alas, what would this forum be without you constantly hating on something (usually pertaining to something involving Nolan, as clearly as it shows in your previous post)?
The whole reissue argument is what made me seriously contemplate all day whether or not to go get one for myself. Just couldn't justify spending on it, since I have them all downloaded.
Yeah, I used to want to BUY ALLL THE MOVIES years ago (when I worked at the video store, I always got buy 2 get 2 free - essentially $32 for 4 dvds). However, nowadays, I've been holding back. I spend $20-$30 on them, watch them once (maybe twice) and then they sit there, taking up space forever. But then again...yeah, it's just like collecting comics. Only more expensive. =/
Now that I got a full time job though, I'm going to be looking into buying new toys and all that, so it's possible I'll get back into buying a movie or two a week, as well.
Yeah, it's definitely not nearly as good of a game - though it IS fun to do all this stuff as Spidey. The problem is the link to the movie and all the villains being cross species (Rhino/Scorpion/etc). If they had made an open world Spidey with all the classic villains that were excluded from this game rather than a "sequel" to the movie so to speak...it would have been phenomenal.
One thing I missed as well, was the rush feeling when you're falling from really high to begin webslinging for super fast swing. You don't get that feeling ever - you always swing at the same pace it seemed like.
But yeah. Replayability is shit. Once you get 100%, there's nothing to go back for because the story is meh. Arkham City, I'll play again - this, most likely not.
For some reason, the mix on Web of Shadows is 50/50. I've had people tell me they loved it and people tell me they hated it. I'm in the loved it category. I thought it flowed together welk, and I STILL need to rent it again and 100% it. It comes packed with collectibles and four different endings based on choices you made throughout the game.
Don't let my description of Amazing Spider-Man deter you from checking it out, by all means. It's a GOOD game...just not great like Arkham.
Watched Hope Springs last night with my girlfriend. Didn't feel like making a thread for it. Streep doesn't ever really disappoint, and she certainly didn't here either. Surprisingly funnier than I thought it would be. Tommy Lee Jones was on top of his game, as always.
So I turn on my cable box for the first time in months (or whenever Korra finished airing) and the first thing I see is Taken 2. I don't know whats sadder, the fact that hollywood can and WILL milk anything and everything ever or the fact that people still pay money to watch this.
Although one thing I noticed from Taken was that there was no forced romantic love interest. That shit better change in the sequel, your not a real movie without at least the following:
ShAkY cAmErA Forced love interest that you just met and immediately fell in love with since both your lives where in danger and you saved her life Happy ending 30 minutes of explosions 45 minutes of running, fighting, running, fighting, run-fighting (thats fighting while you run...DRAMATICALLY) 10 minutes of plot followed by 5 minutes of explaining the plot so as not to confuse anyone.
But yeah I saw taken 2 trailer and was actually disgusted.
I agree with you, just not as passionately. Yeah, it's a cash grab - and I'll be the first to tell you that Neeson was a BAMF in Taken (haters be hating, but he was). I will probably see this when it hits Redbox, but I agree there's really no point in making it.
KINGX2 What's wrong with Lego Harry Potter? Those Lego games are great fun!
I'm with The Living Angelus thought - patience is a virtue when it comes to video games. It takes a lot of excitement for me to buy a game as launch. I'd have Borderlands 2 and have played the shit out of it by now, but I know it'll be discounted very soon for holiday sales.
Edit #2: Lupin3rd - I've only played an hour of it, and it seems extremely linear. I'm guessing by your reaction that it doesn't get any better?
Anyway - I'm on chapter 4 of Leon's campaign in RE6. It's not terrible, but I was to the point on the train battle with Derek that I needed to consume what little ammo I had to advance the sequence, only to find out that I needed more ammo on top of the train to stop an insta-kill. Had to have a buddy jump on my second controller to help conserve ammo. Such a pain in the ass that was. Not sure I want to actually play this game again post-rental and try the harder modes. I'm not even done with one campaign and I'm kind of bored with it...had no desire to play it at all yesterday.
Dead Island is extremely underrated. It's a survival game with 4 stages (albeit, very long stages filled with lots of quests) - resort / city / jungle / prison. It's melee based, though there are guns, but they are few and far between. It's pretty remarkable.
I always said if Borderlands and Left 4 Dead had a baby, and Fallout and Dead Rising had a baby, and somehow by some miracle those two babies met and *bleep*ed - Dead Island would be the result.
We should get 4 of us to play together, using all 4 of the characters. I still don't have the Originality achievement.
There is a thread for it in the TV forum, I'm sure, but I never have watched the show personally. When I make time for TV, it's Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Dexter, and Homeland.
I'm the worst at Halo, but I got it to play with friends. Even then, I don't even really enjoy it. As far as Black Ops 2, I've sworn all year that I wasn't going to get it. I dumped WAYYY to many hours into MW3 in the last year, and I really don't wanna do the same with this one. I'll play the campaign one day though.
I just started Skyrim back up so I could play Dawnguard (I got it discounted with the Sales & Specials App) and there's a new DLC coming out in the beginning of December. Then I want to tear through The Witcher 2. I popped that in the other night and watched the opening cinematic before I remembered I dl'd Dawnguard a couple weeks ago.
*bleep* going out on Black Friday. Amazon matched nearly everything I wanted. I only picked up Borderlands 2 for myself though. It's $35 on Amazon right now, but twice yesterday they had it on lightning deals, making it $25.
Max Payne 3 is $20, but one lightning deal made it $15. AC3 is $35. Got it for my brother.
The Living Angelus - Lego LOTR came out last week and was already $30 on Amazon. I would have gotten it, but I figured it'll be that cheap again soon anyway, as most Lego games always become.
I also recall you bragging about not having any Halo games on your gamer profile before. Why all of a sudden are you getting Reach?
I also recall you bragging about not having any Halo games on your gamer profile before. Why all of a sudden are you getting Reach?
You can't figure this out? It's pretty obvious that he's only interested in Reach because Halo Anniversary forces Halo Reach into your achievements list (retarded, if you ask me). So he's now forced to play Reach to fill up his 0/1400 achievement points in the game.
Don't worry, TLA, it pissed me off too.
Why in the hell does it pull Reach achievements into your list? That seems strange to me.
I just bought Borderlands GOTY at Gamestop so I could download all the DLC content with the intentions of returning it for a full refund, but since I bought it in a buy 2-get 1 free deal, they wouldn't let me return it for my money back. So, I traded it for Halo: Anniversary (the only thing there I was interested in at the price I paid for Borderlands)
lol @ ctrl purchasing Rage for $20. That game has been less than $10 on Amazon for ages. Can't believe it's actually $17.99 on there right now. I'd just buy used and pay less than $10 in that circumstance.
Totally didn't know that playing Halo4 MP for a select amount of hours would grant you MSP this month. Oops. I wouldn't have enjoyed playing Halo 4 that much anyway.
140 hours = 600 MSP 35 = 100 MSP
There was one in between too...but you have to be an XboxLive Rewards member.
Thought that was interesting, considering the game came out at the end of the first week of November. Mad hours you'd have had to put in to the MP to get just 600 points haha.
It was entertaining. I was a bit thrown off by trying to figure out what kind of movie this was going to be. Based on the previews, my expectations of the film were to be somewhat serious. However, the first 45 minutes or so were quite comedic. So, while I was adjusting to the unexpected comedy in the film, they're working on making it serious again.
I don't know. I think I'd give it a 3/5. While predictable, it was fun. Sean Penn was outstanding.
So excited! Drove two hours to my girlfriend's hometown for a wedding tomorrow night, and their rinky dink little theater is playing Silver Linings Playbook, and we're going in 15 minutes! Woop woop
I've prolonged redeeming my Bing credits long enough to have either 1600msp between my 4 accounts or $20 worth of Amazon giftcards. This decision shouldn't be hard, but I'm teetering. It's been MSP every time for nearly a year. Now I think I'm about to convert to essentially free money on something non specific...but that means no more free DLC. I don't know. DECISIONS. #dodson
Just restarted Red Dead Redemption after having played through hours of it on PS3 at launch. Such a great game. I foresee a lot more hours spent playing through this.
Meanwhile, been on a movie-a-night kick with my gf the last few nights. The Hurricane on Sunday night and The Thomas Crowne Affair last night....wonder what tonight will bring? I'm thinking something along the lines of The Wedding Singer.
See you when Riptide comes out. Oh, no I won't, because I was completely done with Dead Island about a year before you even picked it up. You should be honored you got to play with me again, if only briefly, since I couldn't stand your ass on MW3 and deleted you.
While the conversation with Hawkeye is entirely true, the accusation that I left immediately or without saying anything is completely false. First off, I wasn't playing the character I wanted to either - just throwing that in there, as well. As he may recall, my mic was messing up the entire time and I suppose it's possible he didn't hear me tell him I was going to go back to RDR where I could mindlessly play and not have to converse with him and listen to DMD whine about whatever is on his mind (which is why I deleted him months ago during the MW3 days - constantly bitching and moaning). My roommate/coworker had just arrived back from a business trip the night before and was up discussing the trip with me, as we work in the same department - so my mind was completely on what he was saying and blocking you guys out. Because of this, you guys were off doing your own thing and always waiting on me, while I was listening to him and trying to keep up.
So PL - there you have it. I wouldn't have explained myself if it were DMD, which is why I neglected to in my previous post, because I really couldn't care less about what he thinks.
I might do that. Give me a time and I'll try and make it. I had a lot of fun with the Bloodbath Arena with some buddies before they dropped off the game. It's much better than COD Zombies.
You posted that news at 10:57am. At 10:57am, I'm working. I don't get to checking Neo until noonish, if briefly because I try to make the most of my hour lunch at the gym. If I have down time at work, I do get on here and check things, but nowhere near enough time to post anything too terribly new because 1) it's usually already posted or 2) I don't see anything worth posting right away.
Why should I understand what the *bleep* this Inferno Penguin analogy is? Why is the movie club thread a failure? It's certainly not "because I don't do anything." The film chosen was unfortunately region blocked, and the whole whole point of making it a two week thing was so people could go beyond Netflix to find selected films. This time, unfortunately again, nobody did.
In addition to that, why are you so quick to judge me and what I do in this forum? Do you think I seriously meant it when I said you post things as quick as possible to bitch that I don't do anything later? Give me a break, man. That's ridiculous. I'd never disagree that I don't do as much as you did. I didn't ASK to be a moderator. I was approached to fill the spot when whatever happened with you happened.
I guess I'm sorry I don't treat this like a full time job, like you evidently did. I keep the forum clean and try to engage in discussion on things that interest me. That's how forums work. I don't need to be engaged in every single discussion on this board and when I have time to browse the web and find cool news to post - I do it (if someone hasn't beaten me to it).
