As an origin story, I wasnt expecting a whole lot of crazy action. The origin story has to spend too much time establishing who everyone is, how he gains his new powers, how he learns to use them, etc.

You can go down the list of firsts for movies, and then look at the sequels and its not even close when it comes to quality. Spider-Man 2, X-2, and The Dark Knight blew their predecessors out of the water.

Personally, I was never looking forward to seeing the Lizard as a big screen villain. He just never was that compelling or interesting to me. If they had to do it, im glad they did it as the villain for the origin so that the inevitable sequel can be one of the premiere villains in the Spider-Man universe. What they did with him was pretty good I thought. But again, origin stories are never going to be as good as the later films are when they dont have to spend half the movie telling everyone who these people are.

Im hoping for Green Goblin, not only to listen to people piss and moan about how theyve already seen Green Goblin, but to see it done right. That Power Rangers TV series reject costume from Spidey 1 was effin atrocious. For as good as Willem Dafoe was out of that getup, it simply could not make up for how ridiculous he looked while wearing it.

Two very valid possibilities. Perhaps the DVD release will have more on the character.

Very possible. However if it was the chameleon then I would hope he is not the main villain as he would suck as the main antagonist of a film. He could be a good side character though. If I remember correctly he was employed by the Green Goblin to make life model decoys of Peter's parents.

I would love Carnage, as long as they don't cast Eric Foreman.

Edit: Actually forget I said that and the more I think about it, the more this would make sense.

Double edit: Just realized they used him in the video game based on the film, so I think that's a no go.

Triple Edit: He appears in civilian form, studying cross species bats. So...maybe

On that topic, the game has apparently gotten good reviews, but the storyline is what's interesting.

Uses light, can teleport short distances, and is employed by Norman Osborne (since Rhys Ifans said in an interview that the figure isn't Osborne, but someone employed by him). Boom, I just won the internet.

I've read some comments online from people who swear that's Christoph Waltz playing the mysterious cell visitor in an uncredited cameo. I guess I wasn't paying that much attention; what do those of you with a much better memory think about that theory?
