How is it unfair when people have seen The Avengers? People are saying good things about Avengers because they enjoyed it, so let them. No one around here is going "OMG BETTER THAN THE TDK, EFF BATMAN". The only person comparing the two is you, which is stupid. It's comical you don't consider yourself a fanboy when you make such whiny ass posts about being so upset over how two entirely different movies are being judged. You're pissed because people are praising one and not praising the other. Come July 20th, there will be a lot of people praising TDKR. Until then, you're lurking the thread and bashing it all because you don't like what you're reading between the two. How sad and pathetic.

All we have to go off of for TDKR are the things we've been given, and those things haven't impressed a whole lot of people. I'm in that group. There's been shit about TDKR that hasn't impressed me, from that 10 minute opening scene of the movie, to the set pics of Catwoman's costume to the latest trailer with that so out of placed Bane dialogue. I've been criticizing TDKR just like I've criticized The Avengers. I've stressed and ranted how Hulk better fight someone from the group. I've stressed and ranted and hoped that a certain scene from the Ultimate Avengers cartoon movie would make it into the movie (which it did much to my amusement). I criticized the shit out of the news when it broke that Norton wasn't going to return. There was a massive amount of people upset because it effed up the continuity between all the films. I was one of them at the time. Now, after having seen the film myself, I can safely say I much prefer Ruffalo's Hulk over Norton's Hulk and look forward to the other 6 films he'll appear in, one of which I hope turns into a solo Hulk movie.

There's been criticism on both sides. Is this criticism going to be a deterrent into whether or not you'll enjoy the movie? People are just easing up on The Avengers' criticism because the movie premiered. People seen it. People enjoyed it. Let them.

I quickly came to the aid of the movie because I effing seen it and you're crying like a little bitch because people are giving it a ton of praise and aren't doing the same to TDKR, a movie that still has almost 3 months to go before it comes out. And you're really laying it on thick if you think just because you make a movie with all of these characters that it'll automatically be good and well received from fanboys. I'd like to point you to Iron Man 2, which was heavily criticized along with a certain gem called Batman Forever as well as Batman & Robin, you know, the two films that killed the Batman movie franchise for almost an entire decade. If these characters are so easily translatable to the big screen, why do so many of their films flop: Elektra, Catwoman, Ghost Rider, Punisher, and so on and so forth. Even the highly successful X-Men and Spider-Man franchises saw the dark side of things when you don't get things just right; X3 and Spider-Man 3 both are considered massive failures despite their box office earnings. The Avengers easily could have been a disaster. Fortunately, it wasn't. Cry more because people are so high up on it. Your Twilight example is downright idiotic because I didn't say ticket sales alone equal a quality movie, which is why I also specifically said it's a critical hit, because last time I checked, not one Twilight movie ever received over a 50% rating on RottenTomatoes, let alone over a 90% positive rating like the Avengers currently is at. Transformers made over a billion dollars worldwide but was critically bashed to hell with only a 35% rating on RT. Which is why this is such a milestone because not only is it pleasing the fanboys and making a lot of money at the box office, it's pleasing critics as well. Are you THAT pissed that Nolan and his Batman films aren't the single most well received critical and financial superhero franchise out there anymore? Because it sounds like you are.

Just saw this tonight, and it topped Cabin in the Woods as my favorite film of the year, and possibly the last couple. Just about everything was brilliant, and the time really flew by during this flick.

Also, the scene after the entire credits is totally worth staying for. It's kind of dumb, but hilarious at the same time.

The Avengers pretty muched topped the list for best superhero movie out there, hands down.

so great. i feel stupid though cause i totally thought that was Super Skrull, thinking the Skrulls would be the next films enemy since they werent in this one. then i just now saw that the race in this film are pretty much the Skrulls anyway.

So, I saw this at midnight last night and, well, it was AWESOME.

However, Thor seemed almost like a non-entity. That kinda sucked, but, eh, it's kinda what I figured would happen.

Loved it. Also had the same experience when the next villain ending clip played. Practically shat bricks, but there wasn't a whole lot of reaction from the crowd. Also reminded me of several areas the xmen films failed to cover in the action department. Ruffalo was great. Banner's finally at his most Banner-y.

I absolutely loved this movie. It was so great watching it on IMAX. One of the best superhero movies I have seen. A+

I think it might be a little premature but I don't think TDKR will top this.
