Didn't like the first person thing my self. Not so much for the concept but that the CGI was very obvious. I hope they don't use that in the final film, or at least clean it up a bunch.

Just chucking it out there that Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 were both great films, and the third was good (if very convoluted, and off-centre of it's Venom portrayal).

As long as there are no first-person views in the film, then I think the trailer worked wonderfully.

I think Spidey 1 and 2 were both excellent superhero films. The thing about 3, though, is that it was (as you said) very convoluted and there was just a little too much melodrama. I don't think that 3 was a very good movie from an objective standpoint, but I personally enjoyed it a lot.

I'm pretty psyched about this film. I liked the previous movies but they deviated from the comics too much to be comfortable.

As for the CGI third person scene, It takes me back to playing Mirror's Edge. I thoroughly enjoyed the game so I'm all for it.

Zeta, I like Garfield for the role, too, at least for his acting, but the only thing I don't like about him is he looks (even in the trailer) like he just stepped off the pages of GQ. Look, I get that Hollywood actors are supposed to be good looking, but Peter Parker is a skinny little bookworm looking guy, not a Playgirl centerfold.
