I agree that the cockiness suits Spidey a lot, but what I think that The Don was referring to was that Spidey was kind of coming of a little more malicious than he would toward a non-violent criminal, in other words just a car thief. He looked like he was really trying to cause the guy pain and toy with him more than at least the comic version of Spidey would do in a case like this. However, something that is interesting is that while he is webbed up, Spidey looked at his wrist for something and apparently didn't find it because he said, "Oh, this could have gone a lot worse."

So my thoughts are that he thought this killer was someone else, perhaps Uncle Ben's killer? The only thing that leads me away from that, however, is that he was too happy-go-lucky while swinging away, which I really doubt he would be if he were hunting for his uncle's killer. But I have the feeling he may have initially thought this thief was someone else when he caught him stealing the car and that there was some other motivation behind his being a little more sadistic.

How could he compare this to TDK?

The ending for Empire Strikes Back is synonymous to the type of ending I want to happen for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The Dark Knight is not. Missing the point much?

My pal went to a press screening the other night and said it was fantastic. Kind of hyped. Might have to watch 500 Days in celebration (JGL needs to be a superhero soon).
