Fantastic Four - Page 18

I really liked this movie, the only problem I had with it was The Thing's costume, it looked more rubbery than "rocky". I guess it's still better than CG the whole way through.

I seen this movie last night & I thought it was amazing! I enjoyed every bit of it. It was really fun to watch & I would say it's one of my favorite movie now!

I'll definately be getting this movie when it comes out on DVD.

Marvel loves sequels. Helps their franchise.

Anyway, I saw it the other day, and I enjoyed it enough. It felt really rushed after Ben got to the bridge, and all that pandemonium was sparked. Still, it was fun to watch, the acting was passable, and Johnny melting that guy's tires... awesome. I could've done without the "I've gotta get out of here and go do some tricky motocross" scene, and the cheap character naming he came up with during that interview.

I remember reading the same rumor; it was just that. A rumor. I recall it stating something more important; something to do with her starring in a big project that was out of her league/character and then mentioning how she wont appear in FF2. From what I understood, their contracts require them to appear in the sequel; all Marvel films have the same clause now. In fact, when the film came out and they were doing interviews, all of them said they can't wait to get back into it and start filming for a 2007 release (well, except Chiklis but that was only because of the suit, but he still loved playing the character).

Just saw this film the other day, and I quite enjoyed it. I wouldn't know if it was faithful to the comics (always seems to be the main complaint with comic book films) sinze I never read any of 'em, but it could certainly have been a lot worse...

Johnny was funny.

Yeah, I was at Best Buy and the exclusive didn't look impressive. Plus I was buying 5 other films (Good Lord, I spent over $80 yesterday on new DVD releases >_< ) and the single-disc of F4 was only for $14.99 so I figured might as well save money there. Plus, I KNOW 20th Century Fox is going to double-dip this release in a few months with a 2-disc set; Region 2 got a 2-disc and 20thCF always double-dip their releases which gets annoying. I wish they'd just release both at the same time and give the purchases the choice then like most studios do.

Fantastic Four: 7 out of 10 - It's a fun, summer comic film with plenty of laughs, though light on the action side.
(score possibly less or more once I watch it a few more times on DVD)

Watched the DVD and I have to say I like F4 even more than I did the first time, so the review definitely gets bumped up a notch. Doom is even more badass than I originally gave him credit for:

1. He outsmarted the Fantastic Four, thus proving his immense intellect.

2. His origin's were there. At first I never noticed the Latveria connection with Doom when I saw this at the theaters, but on DVD (and watching in peace and quiet) I was able to hear some of the dialogue about how he could go back there and get a fresh start and rewind the disc and look at some of the text the statue of Doom's mask and freight carrier at the end of the film.

One thing I hoped for in the sequel is that they show just how smart and dangerous Doom actually is but that may or may not happen as SHH! states Julian McMahon wont be back for the second film. Shooting conflicts with another project that he's signed for, so they may opt for a different villain or just get someone else to play the part. Does it matter though, since the mask is pretty much melted to his face?

Anyways, love the film even more watching it for a second viewing. The comic-dialogue didn't even bother me this time around (not that it did the first time, but it was cheesy): "Sue, let's not fight." "No, LET's!" .... minutes later, Doom comments on how her time is up when *BOOM/CRASH* "It's clobberin' time!". I thought that was actually pretty cool this time around. I guess when you're into the film at this point, nothing can bring it down. Look at Spider-Man, that film has some of thee. cheesiest. dialogue. ever. and it's one of thee. best. superhero films. ever!
