Finnish broadcaster YLE is reporting that a film distributor has signed a million euro deal with the producers of Iron Sky.

The producers of the homegrown sci-fi film Iron Sky have signed a large international sales agreement. The deal, between production company Blind Spot Pictures and distributors Stealth Media Group, is valued at up to one million euros.

The film's producer Samuli Torssonen said that this is an unusually large sum, pointing out that a typical Finnish film's total budget is on average one million euros. Iron Sky's budget is a total of five million euros, making it one of the largest productions in Finland.

Iron Sky is producer Samuli Torssonen's and director Timo Vuorensola's second sci-fi feature film. Their previous project, the low-budget sci-fi parody Star Wreck, was a huge hit in Finland and the most watched internet film ever.

Iron Sky has already garnered a great deal of international interest in its tale of Nazis that fled to the moon, with an official teaser video notching up almost four million viewers.

Producer Samuli Torssonen says that they have received job applications from as far afield as Hollywood:

"There has been a great deal of international interest, and even some very big players have e-mailed us about the project. It shows we're managing to gain credibility on the international stage." Torssonen said.

Iron Sky begins shooting in Germany at the start of next year, with the premiere due in 2011.
