I'm definitely seeing it again. This film deserves my money.


Edit: My bad, 16th is still slightly limited. Some theaters will get it on the 16th, others will get it on the 23rd. Sucks for you but the wait will be worth it.

What gets me is that he did this without getting paid. I think though this has kick-started his career yet again.

Got to see this today, intended to see it on its release yesterday but school just left me too tired. I think BLinK0 hit it perfect when he said:

I absolutely loved it, but it doesn't half depress me as well, what with his final talk with his daughter and seeing Pam leave as his match started. There was a couple of bits of great humour too, and I couldn't help but laugh when he was talking Necro Butcher backstage - he couldn't have been any different to what I had imagined (unless that was a joke on purpose.) Good to see some recognisable faces too (love how awkward Nigel McGuinness's accent was); didn't realise CZW was gunna be in it as well as RoH. Rourke easily has my performance of the year, too.

It isn't actually as good a film from my view as everybody seems to think it is, just another average film.

And what for you is an above average film.

Well the man who gave me the film made it out to be the best film ever, told me how its the only film to make him cry, etc and said I'd love it.


I thought it was alright but it wasn't as good as he'd said, it was clear to see what was gonna' happen, it wasn't gonna' be the ending where he gets the chick and lives happily ever after.

I felt it dragged on a little and personally the ending although it was pretty good in what it was doing could have been better.


However I'm not into the type of films of which this is, not the boxing/wrestling part as I love Ali and the Rocky films but everything else its about i.e the problems with his daughter, etc.

I did think it dragged a little at certain points aswell but at others it was fine.

I don't feel its up their with Rocky and Ali though as in a great film for me and personally an enjoyable one, part of the reason towards me thinking this is because many friends irl have said it is better/on the same level as Rocky/Ali, etc and a few on here think it is by the looks of things.


Saying that its only my opinion and alot of people will disagree with me.


However like other films I'll give it a second watch to see if it can win me over/change some of my opinions.
