Again, Sorta Kevin Eastman Talks Live-Action TMNT. quote September 2, 2008 - "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" co-creator Kevin Eastman has confirmed the rumors that Imagi and Warner Bros. are in talks to develop a new live-action movie based on the characters. He posted the following at HeavyMetal.com: Yes, it is true. Although the CGI film did well enough to warrent a sequel, there has been much talk between Imagi and Warners to do a better "re-invention" (newest Hollywood buzzword) of the TMNT's, in a live action film--like what was done with Batman. Back to basics, back to the origin and the intro of the Shredder, etc...there have been talks, trips to Northampton to talk to Mr Laird, and discussions with the original "first" TMNT film director Steve Barron to come back and do it right--but no official word yet... Best, Kevin The CG-animated movie TMNT, which was released in March of 2007, earned $95 million worldwide compared to its $34 million budget. If it happens, I'd want it to continue with the tone of the CGI-animated film. While I cherish the films, I can't go back and watch Parts Two and Three because of how horrible the dialogue and just how overall cheesy they are. The first still kicks ass. So a mixture of Part 1 and the CGI-version would own all. I'm still awaiting to see if that He-man revamp ever gets off the ground. That could be epic ala a LOTR scale. 	Greatest. News. Ever. I definitely want Live-Action. The first two movies were off the chain sweetness. quote Pox Americus was the cgi movie even anything good? Yeah. It was actually pretty damn good. Didn't have any Shredder in it, but I was more than pleased with the slightly-darker tone, whitty/funny dialogue, and entertaining action. 	TMNT 1 and 2 were epic. I never seen 4 (the CGI one) and 3 was beyond horrific. Hopefully 5 continues with 1 and 2's epicness.

	lets hope costuming has advanced enough so the turtles dont look quite so rubbery this time, but actually look organic. it could be cool though.

The 5th turtle posted this official statement a few months ago: "Imagi's unilateral option to produce and distribute a sequel to the 2007 TMNT CG-animated movie expired on April 30, 2008. As a result, while Mirage continues to speak with Imagi, Mirage has begun discussions with several other movie companies regarding the production of a new TMNT film for distribution sometime in the not-too-distant future." New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie Is Coming! quote April 23, 2009 - To coincide with the *Turtles' 25th anniversary celebration, Variety* reports that the Mirage Group, which owns the property, is moving forward with a live-action film focusing on the origins of the iconic crime fighters. The characters first appeared in a May 1984 Mirage comic book before spawning a lucrative line of toys, cartoons and three films released in the early 1990s. In 2003, the Turtles were reintroduced to a new generation via a TV series, the "TMNT" film and a revamped merchandising program. The project, targeted for release in 2011, would mark the fifth big screen outing for the sewer-dwelling heroes Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael as well as their master Splinter. Legendary Pictures former chief marketing officer Scott Mednick is producing the new film alongside Galen Walker, who produced the 2007 computer-animated TMNT. Peter Laird, Gary Richardson, Frederick Fierst, Eric Crown and Napoleon Smith III are executive producing the film, which is based on the characters created by Laird and Kevin Eastman. Laird said the film will remain true to the spirit of the original comic books. He added that the film may employ face replacement technology, which would allow the *Turtles* to be much more expressive. Good!
