How to level up low level characters

There is a great way to level up your low level characters. At Tynemouth Hill you can send your low level people into battle and the enemies will be equal to the highest level of the character in the battle. If you have one level 7 person and 5 level 4 people the monster level will be level 7 and they will have equipment equal to that level.

Other maps will not be that easy. Some have a set lowest level. For example Bahanna Highlands will have level 11 or 12 enemies no matter what the level is of your lowest level character.

This is a great way to level up those story characters that join you at level 3.

It's easier to bring them as rear guards that do nothing, and have 4 tanks or epic uniques slaughter the enemy.

Edit: I've just grinded my Octopi, all dragons excluding Hydras, and Gryphons at Tynemouth on AI. Works wonders. I just need something to do while they grind.

Most of the time the AI settings work really well. At times it might be better to hide a low level in the back row especially if you want to get some high level items. But if you only need things to craft, like beasthide, then I like going to Phorampa Wildwood with a bunch of low levels and farm for a while. Most of the time the battles only take 10 minutes for just a bit more.

Man, it's so difficult to find the auction listings for monsters on Ogre Tactics. I've searched for a good half hour on what level they need to be and nothing but the old auction listing for the original comes up. However, what I found annoying was that I would be spending more money than I made buying up the monster's materials after auctioning. So uncool.

Oh yeah I agree. Crafting is a really nice addition but it is so hard to figure out where and how to get some materials. I still don't have enough Beasthide !

I could probably help with the crafting bit; try auctioning Gryphons or Octopi for the beasthides.

There now, see, I never knew that. Thanks. Probably easier to capture them than hope for a drop.

I usually train the Rhea Boum Aqueduct. There, I have my main character, who is a level 26 Ninja equipped with two superior 1H Katanas with the ability "Steel Stance" and "Parry".

To level up a class, I change the jobs of the other 5 members to the class and I have them standing on the little 9 squared island in the bottom left corner, (next to the pillars you can jump across) and arrange them to block enemies from jumping across. I have 3 blocking the right side, whilst 2 cover the left side and my ninja across the gap, stopping enemies from jumping and killing them.

I also have him equipped with "Field Alchemy II" or above to use Mend Seeds and such, same with the lower class in case of Octipuses using that Bubble move, Archers and Mages. You don't have to use a Ninja. Any class that you feel confident in and can hold their own with reasonable movement can be used.

Enemies usually head towards the Tanks Character because the majority are on the opposite side.
