It's rather stunning to think that Limbo was released a full three years ago, considering just how outstanding of a game it was and how it probably plays just as well now as then. Thankfully the dev team over at Playdead feels the same, announcing today that Limbo will be released on iOS devices on July 3. A generation of mobile gamers will soon know the terror of shadowy spiders chasing you through the dark.
Seriously, it gives me shivers just to think about having to use touch controls to navigate around that spider that the player encounters early in Limbo. It stabs with its claws, and Playdead expects me to put my fingers near it? Well excuse me, Princess, but I think I'll stick with my mouse and keyboard where I can keep my digits at a respectable distance from the screen.
Limbo is currently available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, OnLive and Vita, soon to be released on iOS starting July 3. Also of note, PlayDead's got their second game in the works and should hopefully be revealing more about that soon? Please?
