For almost twenty years independent studio Housemarque has been developing games, both small and large, from Stardust to Angry Birds Trilogy. It's rather interesting to see some of the concept art they've put together recently for what we can probably assume to be new game pitches. Whether it be a follow-up to Dead Nation or what must be a big budget Superman title.
Honestly, I can't imagine a good reason not to green ligh a second Dead Nation title, just looking at the concept art they've got for the tentative sequel. T-Rex monsters with alien-esque mouths-in-mouths, giant fungus creatures, and what's with those butterflies? Then The Walking Dead concept art follows and it's difficult to imagine how a Dead Nation-style Walking Dead game wouldn't work. Look at that horse armor! That's DLC money, right there.
Perhaps most impressive is Housemarque's Superman concept art, though. Doomsday stepping onto a clearly well-worked Supes, with another picture of him sitting in his Fortress of Solitude looking worse for wear. Considering the concept art is marked 2011, it's likely the title wasn't greenlit, unless it's being held back for the upcoming Man of Steel movie release. Fun to think about, though.
It'd be great to see Housemarque get the opportunity to work on a larger-scale project than what they've done in the past. After twenty years of hard work, they certainly deserve the chance. Either way, it's great to get an inner look at what the studio may have been considering working on. They may not be real games, but they could be.
