Yesterday in Animal Crossing was the Festivale holiday, so we’ll be taking a look at the event in New Leaf today! Read on to learn all about it:

If Festivale sounds familiar, it’s probably because it was in City Folk for the Wii where you played games with the villagers to collect candy. Fortunately, it makes a return in New Leaf with some changes!


A good way to start off the holiday would be heading to the Town Tree where you’ll meet Pave, who is the host of Festivale. He will ask you to find 3 of a certain colour of feather for him which you can catch with a net by wandering around town.

• Yellow
• Green
• Blue
• Pink
• Purple
• White
• Rainbow (counts for any color requested)

Sounds really easy right? There’s a catch. During Festivale, confetti will rain from the sky making it difficult to distinguish the feathers from the confetti! You may also find yourself finding only the feather colours you don’t need!



Thankfully, Nintendo planned for this and there’s a solution. If you speak to your villagers, they may offer you a fun game (such as Rock Paper Scissors) to play for feathers or propose a trade with you. Be sure to take advantage of this if you’re having difficulty finding feathers!

Finally, let’s talk about the rewards for collecting all these feathers for Pave. For each set of three feathers you collect for him that he requests, he will gift you a random piece of his furniture series.

Unlike some of the other holidays we have discussed lately, Festivale is almost guaranteed to make it’s way to the localized versions as it was in localized versions of City Folk!
