Town Costumizaton: What Are YOU Expecting?

I want to shove stuff all in one area. Like...living district. The other stuff would all be enviromental.

SAVE THEM TREES.

I'd make a little village, like said, and then have a downtown where all of the shops are. Then I'd make the "parks" where flowers go :3

Oh, the joy of simply imagining.

I'm not a fan of the whole idea of being able to pick out every aspect of your village but I would like to be able to pick where my neighbours homes go and where my home goes. In CF I was on this lovely secluded cliff until Tiffany built right behind me. ;-;
But hopefully now being mayor will give you the power to plan these things.

Maybe not completely having the ability to move things everywhere, maybe just have some areas where you can put things?

I don't like the town customization idea. Part of what I love about the game is the random generation of the town landscapes, making you adapt to and excel in the unique land you were given.

Well it could be optional, or maybe something you unlock down the road. D; It would help stop people from hacking, which really isn't a problem, but it would also let us build a town in the image we always wanted.

I like torn's idea the best it allows some random placing, but also a selection for the user.

Maybe after you "beat" the game, you get to select where they go? That'd be cool (:

I like that idea as well.

You could clear an area for a place for someone to live, and move the post from one location to that one.

And if there's a rock in the way, you could just move that anywhere.

These tasks should cost a good amount of bells though, to make the game more challenging.

Like, moving a rock should cost 50,000 bells, Add a bench and lamppost for 75,000 bells, making a new living area for a neighbor should be 150,000 bells, building another bridge is 250,000 bells, and so on. That, along with the mortgage costs would make the game last a lot more longer than the previous ones.
