So something we've gone into before is our favourite boss. To change things up a bit, what's your favourite boss room? There are a few designs of a similar nature, while others are quite unique and interesting. So what boss room design is your favourite and why?
I think in this particular remake, the best boss room would have to be Phantom Ganon's.
My reaction when I first entered for the first time was wow. Everything about the room was colourful, yet still had the dark atmosphere of the original. Not to mention, the golden coloured floor decorations blended in so perfectly.
I did like the darkness of that room. And it's interesting how the boss battle isn't initiated until you attempt to leave. I thought that was a pretty cool design when the rest are just entering the room and whatnot.
For me, I'd say my favourite is probably Bongo Bongo's. It's not the most creative LoZ stage I've seen, but I did enjoy how it's quite different by being situated on a large drum surrounded by toxins. And not only that, but how it actually functions like a drum, too, and isn't just purely for decorative purposes.
Fun fact: Bongo Bongo and Volvagia's rooms are the only rooms in which you can die in by natural means even after the boss has been defeated.
Chalk up some more points for Bongo Bongo's room. ^^ Even though Bongo Bongo's room still has that simple circular design that's really common for LoZ boss rooms, but both aesthetically and as you point out mechanically - as well as his beating a tune on the drum stage itself - just give it that little extra personality to the design that I like.
I think with Morpha's room, I would've liked to have seen it as a long rectangular space. That way, it'd be cooler to use the Longshot on spots along the ceiling.
