	The Water Temple. If there was something I was curious about seeing in Master Quest mode, this would be it. I hadn't found the original version that hard, but figured it must be due to the changes made, and that Master Quest would be a chance to reinstate that level of difficulty that has plagued the minds of gamers for years. Putting on those heavy Iron Boots and the Zora Tunic I sunk like a stone, though fortunately as one that could breathe. I shot the lock off with the Hookshot, and entered the sacred temple. Hmm, doesn't seem like much has changed - well, best get on with it. I sunk down to the bottom and ran into none other than Princess Ruto. I hope she isn't expecting me to keep that marriage proposal! For now though she seems content to float up and show me where to go, although she had rudely disappeared by the time I got there. I played Zelda's Lullaby and changed the water level. Sadly I forgot to check the 2F room in this area and so skipped over the Longshot, causing me some headaches when I spent a while trying to find it and the containing room that I must have missed somewhere. Other than that though, the Water Temple was just another case of removing the few rooms I didn't enjoy and putting in puzzles that are more fun to engage with. Other than some intense battles with Stalfos, the exploration went enjoyably smoothly. Once again there were some time blocks. Although it seems to be a common addition now, I still rather like how they're used each time. It was also far easier to get up to the boss door this time, which was one of the main annoyances for me in the normal version. Darn, I couldn't replicate my shining success story from my first encounter with the boss. Rather than hook him right into the corner behind me, he just kept dropping onto the edge of the floor, promptly splashing back into the water half the time before I could even land a hit! He didn't cause me any trouble damage-wise in return, but I was a bit down about not being able to relive my original story of triumph. Eventually I beat him and took my prize, but I actually felt less accomplished for the greater expenditure of effort! Ah well, an experience is an experience. I teleported out and found out Ruto was the next Sage. Can't say I'm particularly sad this time, it's getting me out of a rather sticky situation! I'm sure she'll get over it soon. 	Well with the very few options you have left, there's not much choice. I'd suggest increasing your health as much as possible for the Shadow Temple. -------------------

	I sort of did, yet sort of didn't at the same time. You'll see what I mean when you read what I did. ^^ --- In the mood to try something a bit different, I thought I'd get the Ice Arrows before completing the Shadow Temple. I still went to Kakariko Village, however, as I wanted to get the Hover Boots. As I arrived I ran into Sheik again, who seemed to have temporarily forgotten that she was trying to help me save Hyrule, and was seemingly staring down the well. I couldn't think to myself why she'd want to; I went down there seven years ago and I doubt it's improved any since! Before I could voice just that, however, she turned around and told me to stay back as part of the well went flying into the air. Seems Kakariko Village isn't such a safe place for the previous citizens of Hyrule Castle. Without warning Sheik flew into the air, tossed this way and that like a rag doll before being thrown to one side. Before I could check whether she was alright, a dark shadow slipped over the top of the well, and began to encircle the village. I drew my sword, figuring I could take it out as it came round. Not really sure how to kill a shadow, I was instead knocked out by it and came round later to Sheik standing over me. She explained about the spirit and something about Impa before teaching me another song and departed. Figuring that I was on my way there anyway, I went into the Graveyard. First I went past Dampe's hut and decided to see what the time was. To my great surprise the door opened! Taken back by the discovery, I decided to read his diary. Once I'd had my fill, I went outside to find his grave. Pulling back the tombstone (sorry there, ol' Dampe) I discovered a hole and entered. There he was again, ready for another race (he sure loves his races). He seemed to be ridiculously accurate and tricky with his fire today, but I managed to get through. I used the Longshot to hook up to the torch, completing the race in a relatively tidy fifty-six seconds. As a reward he dropped a Piece of Heart! I went back outside and got on top of the tombstone. Spying a crate I couldn't access before, I targeted it and used the Longshot again to get up to it. Breaking the crate I discovered another Piece of Heart! Pleased with the trip to the Graveyard, I played the song Sheik had taught me, which teleported me a relatively short distance to the top of the Graveyard. 	Sounds pretty interesting then. I actually went and deviated from what I originally planned to do though so I'm going to have to wait a little longer. --- I went in the for the Hover Boots; I stayed for... well, I don't know what I stayed for actually. I'd gone in with the plan to acquire the Hover Boots then go and get the Ice Arrows, but for some reason I felt a burning desire to simply continue with my progression through the temple. Was I weirded out near the beginning when you didn't need the Hover Boots to get over the gap? You bet I was. Lots of Bombs where the order of the day. Getting through those areas was the easy part. After acquiring the coveted Hover Boots, I was at that huge room - you know, the one with all the guillotine blades. Yet this time there was no Wallmaster - go figure. The temple was going quite smoothly for me like the previous ones, but then I hit a bit of a snag once I got up to where you have to make your own bridge. For some reason it took about ten goes to remove the time block, which led me to looking around a lot in a completely pointless manner. I also went into a room full of Bomb Flowers where a Dead Hand attacked (I assumed all the Bomb Flowers had to be blown for him to reappear but he didn't - if anyone knows how that room works then let me know!). Though I got the Boss Key and quickly backtracked back to where the time block had been and went through. [Drums... drums, in the deep] Yes I was on a giant drum which could only mean one thing: Bongo Bongo. I slipped on my boots and got ready for a very annoying fight. Fortunately it didn't go any worse than last time. I tried using arrows on the eye but it just isn't my forte, so I got the sword out and swung it like mad instead when he charged. I did have to use a fairy but like I say, that's no different from our last encounter. Stunning the hands actually worked out better this time too, allowing me to defeat him quicker than before. Pleased with my efforts, I picked up my Heart Container and gladly departed. 	I think they're a bit faster, but it's not a huge issue as far as difficulty is concerned. Don't want to be too slow though or they'd never hit anything. --- Ah, the Biggoron Sword quest. At first I thought I'd be doing it without Epona but now I have her I might as well use her, right? I suppose it'd be fun to see how tight the timing is without Epona, but perhaps I can try that out on my third file when I try to 100% the game. It's amused me since I first read about the Biggoron Sword quest that it all starts with a simple Cucco from Kakariko Village, but little things like that don't matter in light of getting such an awesome sword! I'd actually taken it from her days before, but I'd left it until now to do the quest. It actually went quite smoothly. I somehow dropped some time compared to the last time I did the quest when going to visit the old guy up at Lake Hylia, but other than that it was no different to when I did it in normal mode. It's a real shame they didn't try to make it harder to do in the Master Quest version, or simply add more to it in general. Feels more or less like they're just handing you a really powerful sword, assuming you have the time to put into it! Still, it was nice to have an excuse to simply cruise around the gorgeous locations of Hyrule, and I once again had a good laugh when talking to a seemingly evil Kokiri named Fado who loves the idea of people being transformed into Stalfos. Poor Grog, you won't be forgotten! An emotional blow when you think you're going to help get his life back in track, but there you go. I got through the steps and took the eye-drops up to the Biggoron. There's something very cool in seeing that ginormous guy move and suddenly half the mountain is standing over you! He thanked me for the drops and repaired the blade. So now I have the Biggoron Sword! 	I usually get it on the second go. I just hold down A and pull to whichever side (and down) seems to work better with it at the time. And if it goes into the middle of the pond I swim out and scare it back to round the poles (and cast from as near to the poles as possible). I only found the Sinking Lure once and that was as Young Link and I didn't realise you don't keep it. --- Yes, I just got the Biggoron Sword, but I want to do some fishing and bean planting first! I went up to the fishing pond at Lake Hylia and entered to find it being run by the same guy as seven years ago. He promptly went into an explanation about how I was his only customer (needs more advertising) and that he was nearly out of business! Well I couldn't say no after all that, so I paid the fee and took my rod. It wasn't exactly smooth sailing. I'd gone fishing at a time where the fish are in frenzy mode, jumping out of the water sporadically like some strange underwater dance. Every time I cast toward the big fish, a greedy and smaller fish would jump in and take it before he so much as batted an eyelid. You'd think he'd have gotten to being the biggest fish from wanting to eat the most, but perhaps he just doesn't like my lure? I would've used the fantastic Sinking Lure, but I didn't realise you don't keep it! Eventually I hooked him and gave it a good go, but after a minute he got off and made for the center of the pond. Annoyed, I swam in after him and chased him back to the poles. While I was down there I noticed none other than the Hylian Loach! Darn my lack of Sinking Lure; that thing just won't budge from the middle. Ah well, another time! I went back to near the poles and managed to hook the big fish again fairly quickly and, after two minutes or so managed to pull him in! Happy with the fifteen-pounder, I ran him over to the desk and claimed the Golden Scale! And then as I went outside I noticed the little patch of dirt you can plant the Magic Beans in, and suddenly I was struck by an idea. Although I don't plan to 100% the game until my next play through, I started to collect bugs. I then went round to the different locations, pouring the bugs into the holes before planting a bean. There was something very satisfying of kicking all those Golden Skulltulas out of their homes! It certainly helped me develop the taste for wanting to 100% the game. I also noticed several plant spots I didn't know about before, so the more you know! 	Well, I definitely know why I had trouble with it. --- Well, first thing's first, let's save the carpenters (must I?). It went very smoothly to say the least; didn't get caught once and thoroughly enjoyed sniping all the Gerudo women. This'll teach you not to let me join! Anyway, I found the carpenters bar one, who took a little longer. In the meantime I got to the Treasure Chest with the Longshot (sorry Mr Scarecrow!) and sniped the Gerudo outside for no reason other than amusement. I went back inside and finally found the last Carpenter (I swear I did it a lot quicker on my normal play through) and earned the respect of the Gerudo women. Darn, won't be able to shoot them anymore! Turning my focus to more important tasks, I went over and paid the small fee to get into the Gerudo Training Grounds. It wasn't too bad on the whole, but a couple of instances slipped me up. Firstly, I spent a long time getting it right in the room to the right with the Silver Rupees! I wanted to do it without help, so I had to fail it a couple of times just to figure out where they all were and how to get them! Other than that it was a relative breeze, and the room where you swim for Silver Rupees seemed even easier than last time (I much prefer to simply switch the Iron Boots on and off rather than Longshot the targets). Then I got the last room and... I'm missing a Small Key. Well, okay, I'll backtrack. Thing is I did a lot of backtracking, and I couldn't find that last key! I did manage to find a secret entrance for 50 Rupees, but that's hardly what I needed! Eventually I figured it out; I remember the room with the switch and the fire and wondered what the point of it was and, surprise-surprise, shooting the Gerudo symbol dropped a chest. Ah well, you live and you learn. After some more backtracking I got back to the room and unlocked the final door. I hit the switch and... oh, a chest dropped and it's not in here! Well that's not as bad as I thought really, because I remember the purple flames from when I was stuck searching everywhere for the other key! Doing some more backtracking (getting pretty tired of the place by this point) I got to the big chest and pulled out... the Ice Arrows! I'm going to use them as much as possible after this stressful excursion full of backtracking and hair-pulling! 	Was a change of pace that's for sure. And speaking of which, the horseback archery seems to be way easier in OoT 3D thanks to motion controls. And whoah, the Spirit Temple... --- With arrows on the brain following my trip into the Gerudo Training Grounds, I decided I needed to get the frustration out first before I took the dangerous path to the Spirit Temple. So with saying that, I went across to the archery range with Epona. Talking to the Gerudo woman she asked who I stole the horse from (hey, I won it fair and square!) and then offered a challenge to get 1000 points while riding up and down the range. It turned out to be an absolute breeze, generating hundreds of points over the requirement and getting the Piece of Heart! Phew, that feels better. Moving back to the other side I came to stand under the looming gate. Climbing to the top and talking to the Gerudo woman, she unbarred the way and stated (cryptically) that I needed the Lens of Truth. Well, no worries there, I won't be forgetting the Bottom of the Well any time soon! Moving out into the desert, my trusty Longshot took me across a threatening chasm and to the other side. Following the flags, I made it to the strange little building in the middle of nowhere. Unlike last time I ventured into it, and found out that I'd be in here again on my 100% run! Back outside I read a stone tablet and, realising what I needed to do, popped on the Lens of Truth. Aaaahhhh, a Poe! Oh, it's that one that "helps" you. No worries. I followed him around for a bit, but wasn't as gullible as to follow him in a second circle rather than just break off and make for the exit. Score one to me! Ah, the Desert Colossus! First thing's first, I popped over and saw the Great Fairy. Ah, Nayru's Love, I might actually use you this time! Making my way into the Spirit Temple, I noticed the two statues that would read about returning as Young Link. I noticed I could pick up a few Silver Rupees, but progress no further. Returning outside I ran into Sheik, who taught me my last song for the Ocarina! I went back to the Temple of Time and returned as a child. I took a little look around but decided to leave going through the temple for another time.
