Special moves are now in the form of stickers...?

In the new E3 trailer, it showed Mario defeating some goomba's by using "Scissors" which had a large picture of paper scissors on it. The screen was chopped into three peices and the paper rolled off. It just doesn't seem like Paper Mario anymore. In the fight, there was no partner, just him. I'm kinda confused...I probably won't get this game if that's all there is. I'm a die-hard PM fan. Thousand Year door is my favorite. I absolutely love the audience factor in that game, and I know no 3DS game could be as advanced as that, but I'm hoping for something amazing. Guess I'll have to keep waiting. I hope more info is up soon.

They most likely don't. Watch some videos, there's an S Bar underneath Mario's HP. The S Bar doesn't go down when he uses stickers, so the S doesn't stand for Stickers. It probably stands for Special.

Stickers seem to be replacing items (and possibly badges, most likely not), not special moves. It doesn't even seem to change the gameplay in any way, so it shouldn't be much of a problem.

You should be more worried about the almost-certain lack of partners.

You can call them partners all you want, but it's most surely not going to be the same partner system from the first two games. The 'article' you linked to isn't by Nintendo, it can be edited by anybody, such as you, or anybody else who categorizes the Chain Chomp and Green Toad as partners simply because of a current lack of information. Not to mention, I've most likely done much more research on all the current Paper Mario 3DS information than anybody who's added to that wiki page. I'm a huge Paper Mario fan. Trust me, I realize that there's a toad and chain chomp following Mario around.

So, for the billionth trillionth time, if they were partners, they would have distinctive features. A hat, a beard, an unusual color. They'd also have appeared more (at least in the overworld) during the videos and in the screenshots. Much more likely than not, these 'partners' will either be temporary or will be used for some sort of summoning-like system.
