Featured Weapon - Viridi Claws

This week's featured weapon is the Viridi Claws!

Claws that are as beautiful and deadly as Viridi herself. Their shots feature a strong homing ability and can maintain continuous fire for long periods. Charged shots fired by the Viridi Claws paralyze foes one-third of the time.

These claws are one of the two Viridi weapons, the other being the Viridi Palm. In order to unlock them, you must clear Chapter 22 on an intensity of 5.0 or higher. Their ranged shots have an interesting ability as shown by the idol description, but like most claws, their melee power is stronger.


Have you ever used this weapon? What are some of your experiences with this weapon, using it or against it? Do you like using this weapon in Solo mode? How about Together?

Did you have trouble unlocking this weapon? How does it feel to use a weapon of the Goddess of Nature? Would you rather have a range-oriented form of this weapon, or melee-oriented? Do you like the design of this weapon?

I've never used this weapon, but I have it unlocked and hope to use it eventually. It's definitely one of the better design claws in the game IMO. With claws, I tend to keep most of them melee-oriented, so for those who've played with the Viridi Claws, I want to ask a question. How does these claws fare with Melee in comparison to most claws? I also would like to know how this weapon also fair in the Range department.

Unlocking it was simple. I didn't have difficulty with Chapter 22 on the higher difficulties.

Viridi claws are pretty good at melee mine look like this.

4 stars melee
0 stars range
+4 melee combo
+4 speed
+2 paralysis
They do about 210ish damage which is close to a 1combo kill, and the innate paralysis keeps them from trying to run away. I'm not sure how they do in the range department though.

I don't use these at all, however I'll give these weapons a shot and I'll try to write a paragraph about these.

Viridi Claws are a rare type of beast. They can work Mixed stars very well (much like the Pandora Claws). As a Melee only weapon, Brawler, Cancer, Raptor, Bear & Pandora Claws outclass it in terms of damage. However the added Paralysis it can add makes it more viable than the Bear Claws (which are awful).

It's Range game is pretty damn good (I would imagine it is better than it's Melee game which is already above par). Though its DCS is on the weaker side, the DCF can do massive damage with Energy Charge.

On paper it is a very good weapon, shame it doesn't have the same popularity as Magnus, Eyetracks, Ninja Palm and the like.

Mods: Shot Range +3, Shot Homing +3, Dash Charged Shot +4, Dash Continuous Fire +4, Stamina +1 or +2, Paralysis +1 (+2 or more does not increase the odds of Paralysis of the attacks that have the innate effect, this is the case for every weapon that has innate effect), Speed +4, Melee Combo +4.

Fuse, I've gotten a pair with 6 melee and MDA +4 and all on chap 20, but I got those from fusing.
