Hate the tanooki tail

Does anyone else hate the tanooki tail item on here? Items are meant to help you in some way, but more often than not the tanooki tail is a hindrance. You can't skid - and therefore mini-turbo boost - while you're using them, and often they last too long too. You'll get one at one set of item points, and even if you use it straight away it'll often last until just AFTER you've passed the next lot of items, meaning you're unable to get a new item. Then inevitably the person behind you will get a red shell, your tanooki tail will disappear two seconds later, and you'll be left completely defenceless against their red shell if they fire it before you get to the next lot of items. Seriously annoying!

I dislike how it works like the thundercloud too. And it's hitbox is really weird sometimes online.

I like it other than that though. It's pretty interesting as far as items go, and I've seen people use it a lot of different ways. And if you really have to get rid of it, use it then drop off the course. Not the best way or even possible sometimes, but it's worth keeping in mind.

I don't really hate it because the noise it makes when I use it is hilarious! Dloon! Dloon! Dloondloondloondloon! Lololol I like to spam it sometimes.

You can't drift with the tanooki tail? You might be right but I feel like I would have noticed that...

Here are my thoughts.

Pros: Helps avoiding shells.
Helps me get 3 coins at once on
certain tracks.They also give a
very tiny lift on flight ramps.
Trashin up enemies^_^

Cons. They dont last very long.

THEY ARE BULLSHIT! And what the guy means is your drifting goes all mental when you use it round corner. Curse who invented it!!

I don't really mind the item anymore, unless it hits you right at the beginning of the race and ruins your chances of winning, then it can get a bit annoying.
