	Log in to remove this sponsored message So I thought you couldn't dodge blue shells with shrooms, but I recently saw someone do it. I was using the same timing as it was in MKW, but it's not been working... When exactly do I have to use it?

	This is probably the hardest game to dodge blue shells in. Your timing has to be perfect in order to dodge it correctly. The way to dodge it is to use your mushroom as soon as it starts to descend. It's hard to tell, and if your trying to dodge a blue shell for the first time it's really hard to do. 	I have yet to dodge any blue shells in any Mario Kart game. With the exception of in Mario Kart Wii, where blue shells can't hit you while you're in certain obstacles. -------------------

	I could of sworn I've been doing that. I guess I'll just have to keep trying. Seems you don't want to do it the complete last second like in MKW. It didn't happen much in MKW, definitely. Funny they took out those parts in MK7 too. Assuming you're talking about those cannons, like in Maple Treeway.

	Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Those cannons and stuff. Blue shells never hit you there in Mario Kart Wii. -------------------

	I was thinking it might be the other way around. In the video he was in the Zucchini, one of the fastest karts in the game, on Metal Mario. I hope it doesn't make too much of a difference though, since I mainly use shy guy. I think I'm just used to Wii where you had to use it at the very last second, while in 7 you use right as it's about to drop. It's strange they've mixed up the ways to dodge blue shells in every MK though.

	I heard that blue shells can also be avoided if you happen to have a bob-omb on you and you thrown it behind you to stop the blue shell. Is this true? -------------------

I assume you're trying it on 150cc because I doubt it will work on anything lower.

	They are definitely avoidable. One time I got a lucky 7 item in 4th and started pressing the item button as fast as I could (it was the final lap and the finish line was really close). I went up to 1st almost immediately, but a blue shell came rushing towards me. However instead of it hitting me like I thought it would, I accidentally dodged it with a mushroom I had gotten from the Lucky 7 item. Everything happened in about 3 seconds and I started laughing hysterically after the epic win. -------------------

	I feel like I'm the only one that hasn't dodged one yet. I've been racing online- and as far as I know, there's no way to notice whether it's 100cc/150cc/mirror (well mirror is obvious) so I may have messed up on 100cc.

	Well, I failed like twice the past two days. I don't really get it. But at least I found out a way to lessen the damage of a blue shell. If you can find a banana peel (probably throw one in front of you if you're quick) or something to get hit by before it hits you can recover much, much quicker.
