I don't really have a problem with the game itself, I just have way too much to play right now and no time to do it. I haven't even finished the last 3 Mario games I bought yet (SML3D, NSMBWii, SMG2) either. So no new games for me until October with Pokemon and Code of Princess. Not to mention Wii U and anywhere between 2-5 games at launch.

I'm mostly okay with Nintendo providing what amounts to large level packs on cartridge for the NSMB series, keeping it simple and clean for the nostalgic playthough or the newbie is fine with me. Just dump the massive pile of cash you get from the game into doing more risky stuff, like Luigi's Mansion 2 and I'm happy.

Yeah, me and my sister were co-oping the entire thing which made it much more difficult than just playing by myself. It also means that it was harder to get timing down.

I can't really remember why I stopped playing Galaxy 2, I think it just got buried under new releases. I tend to do that with Mario games though, it was years after I first started playing 64 and Sunshine that I finally sat down to beat them.

Eh, I'm just find Mario boring most of the time. SML3DL was a one playthrough game, and Kart was the same.

Its always been my intention to finish it, just need the time and less games piling up.

It would be interesting to see if online would work or not. It's such a precision game that any lag would really ruin things, especially if you want four characters moving around online all at the same time. I feel like it would run into the same problems as Brawl even if Nintendo's infrastructural was improved.

I have to disagree. NSMB and NSMBW are soulless. NSMB2 at least feels and shows that the devs put love and effort into it.

Still nothing like SMB2, though.

I'm not picking up NSMB2 either, at least not right now, as I have no need for more portable games.

Anyway, SMG is in my top 5 games of all time, but I just couldn't bring myself to finish SMG2. I just lost interest. To me, it felt like the scraps of level design from SMG tossed into a new game; rather than having this large, expansive themed galaxies we got short, singular, one or two star levels with a linear world map and an even smaller hub world. It took the trend of making the 3D Mario platformers more linear and went TOO far with it imo.

Which makes me earnestly hope that the Mario platformer for the WiiU is more like Sunshine or 64; big, more-open world that encourage exploration as opposed to a traditional linear platformer, and a big overworld with hidden secrets.
