Tri G is a remake of the Wii game that came out. They announced MH4 for 3DS at the same time, but nothing else about it has been shown yet.

Its not a remake, but rather an update/expansion kind of thing sort of like the MonHun Portable series

Because those would have no use, nobody would use them. A second circle pad can be used for camera control in 3D games and shooters.

Nah I'm just fooling around. I agree, putting an extra pad would be sweet, but it's not going to happen.

Keep in mind that Nintendo promised there wouldn't be any revised versions of the hardware for a while. The 3DS XL is okay because it's more of an alternative. A revision with more buttons/sticks would send the message that "Oh, that old 3DS you bought? Completely useless now" and would see mountains of bad press for Nintendo. Also, if they put an extra pad it would result in some people having two pads on their console and some with only one. How is a developer supposed to work with that?

That's not really the issue, as the people with one circle pad could "upgrade" to two pad status by using the CPP. Think of it like Wii Motion Plus.

You mean the same Wii Motion Plus that is used by barely any Wii games at all?

Two reasons. One, it feels like garbage in my hands. Two, having it as a purely optional peripheral means that developers won't include it in their games.

Example: Monster Hunter. They're doing this camera control on the touch pad. Not on the second stick for anybody who wants to with a CPP. If a second stick was included then they would make camera control for it.

It's not that I'm obsessed about having a second stick integrated, but rather I want to see the second stick used more. The best, and really only, way for that to happen is with having it integrated. If Nintendo pushed the CPP or whatever like Microsoft does with Kinect to where it pushes devs to use the add-on to enhance the experience even if its not requires, then I'd be satisfied just the same. Yes, Kinect is shit but you get the message behind the analogy.

And your financial offer makes sense only to an extent, since I can turn that exact argument against systems like the XL. Why bother with just it being bigger? People won't buy multiple 3DSes. Nintendo is already clearly about giving the consumer the option, financial "sense" or not. If you're going to make different models anyway, why not include a stick one?

Personally, I don't see why you're so adverse to not having the option.

The Circle Pad Pro was designed for Monster Hunter, and both Monster Hunter 3G and Monster Hunter 4 use it for camera control. Monster Hunter 3G even came bundled with it when the game was released in Japan.

LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT: I've been arguing for this thing for like pages now just because I wanted camera control for Monster Hunter, and through those pages nobody tells me that I had what I wanted all along!? Even after we shifted the discussion directly to camera control in Monster Hunter!?

Well then, I could care less now. But before I go pack for vacation and never return (for two weeks), I will leave with one final rant. One that I just finished typing before you posted that shocking revelation and I don't want it to go to waste.

EDIT: Oh, and on a side note, I HAVE used the CPP for a couple hours and still think its terribly uncomfortable. I'm not as blind and stupid as you think

The problem here is that we are not arguing as two gamers. I am arguing as a gamer, and you are arguing for Nintendo. What do I mean? All of your reasons essentially boil down to "not a lot of people use it" or "Nintendo doesn't want it" or "it would cost too much." That is pretty much a summary as to why you think that there shouldn't be a model of the 3DS with an integrated circle pad. All of that stuff is from NINTENDO'S perspective. The only people who care about that stuff is NINTENDO.

What do I mean? Well, analogy for this discussion. I want Wendy's to start selling Extra Large sodas in addition to Large sodas, because I drink a lot of sodas. You start saying that "oh not a lot of people would buy those it would cost them money." Well, so? Wendy's would be losing out on money, not you.

We are gamers. We care only about what is good for us gamers, not the companies. Not the developers. The GAMERS.

Want to know what the most profitable franchise in gaming history is? Call of Duty. They come out annually. They sell millions of copies and make bazillions of dollars. They also don't cost a whole lot to make because each game is just a small incremental increase over the previous, all using the same engine. Its like each game is a mod over the next. So CoD is clearly making Activision tons of cash. So do WE, the gamers, defend CoD because it makes them a lot of cash? Hell no, we complain and fight to make better games, stuff that will help US. We want dedicated servers, a multiplayer beta, costly stuff for a company. But we don't care, because its good for us, the gamers. We don't care about the company. We care about what is good for us.

So maybe selling a 3DS model with an integrated CPP is bad for Nintendo. Well is it bad for the gamer? Hell no. They have the option to buy a model with a integrated stick, or they can use the CPP, or just not buy the few games that use the CPP if they don't want to spend the money for that. Having the option is good for us, the gamers. Maybe not for Nintendo, but why should we care? We shouldn't, and we don't.

If they did release a model with a second stick, would it affect you? No, it wouldn't. You could still use your standard model with a CPP. And even if you did have a model with a second stick through some mysterious means, would having this stick there affect you? No, it wouldn't, as you would rarely, if ever use it.

And as a consumer, not a company employee, I want what's best for me, the consumer, the gamer. And that is the option to buy a model with a second stick. A choice that would have no negative impact on ANY consumer.
