help 3ds Completley Frozen, Help!

I was just playing that minigolf game and the whole 3ds sudden froze on me. Like i couldnt return to the home menu, i cant even turn the thing off! Whats going on and what do i do!

ok i've just shut it down and turned it back on, it looks ok now but what on earth happened. I'm pretty sure my systems not meant to have a complete crash like that

This sort of thing happens all of the time, the software on the 3DS is fairly new, there will be glitches every once in a while. This happens all the time in the 3DS browser, it even happens in Mario Kart 7. If it happens too much, rest assured Nintendo (or whichever software developer created that game) will fix it.

I wish I could see a console window when these types of things happen, like you could on "Super Mario 64 DS". Just so I could know exactly why it did that, and how I can avoid it.

I'd try holding the power button for an extended time to see if that will turn it on. If not, I'd unscrew the back panel, remove the battery for a few minutes, then put it back in and try again. If that doesn't work, contact Nintendo customer service for your region via their website, they usually are pretty quick to respond to stuff.
