3DS homebrew scene, what's going on?

I have searched Google a lot lately and have only found a handful of content toward 3DS homebrew. Does anyone know where we are when it comes to being able to run it?

The newest thing i've seen on the topic is an image on tumbler that shows someone running a "Hello world" on the 3DS's top screen in 3DS mode. This image looks easily faked though...

To my knowledge the 3DS hasn't been cracked yet, and Nintendo has been updating fairly regularly to avoid the piracy situation that harmed the DS in its latter years.

And for the record, discussion of homebrew is allowable, but discussion of emulations is not.

I've been curious about this for some time too. After rooting my phone and getting homebrew running on my Wii, I've really gotten a taste for customization, so I'd really like to see what I can do with my 3DS in terms of that.

They guys at 3Dbrew.org are working on hacking the 3DS. gbatemp is where most people congregate to talk about it, but there isn't much going on. The 3Dbrew guys have started a fundraiser in an attempt to crack the 3DS, but they need about $2k. As of now they have a little less than $600. Here's the thread if you're interested. If you know of any other sites that are pro-homebrew, then please repost this so we can crack this thing asap.

I wouldn't trust them. Never trust anyone who asks for money for the homebrew scene (unless it's for donations after they have released their products). The need of that amount of money for a homebrew project is extremely fishy. Even if they needed to buy the whole equipment with a computer included they wouldn't need more than 800$ if they choose the right stuff.

Just give it a while. I know some people who work on iPhone exploits also work in homebewing Nintendo systems. Let's wait a little bit.
