The best new features/additions in LBP2?

If I had to pick one, it has to be the microchip/gate system. As someone who never published a level on LBP1 (although I did attempt to make them), it just makes the whole process so much easier. In LBP advanced creation was a very mechanical process, what with all the logic boxes and such, and that just isn't something I'm very good at. LBP2 logic just gives you so many more options, both for simple ideas and complex ones.

And I agree about the controlinator, from a gameplay perspective it really is the new pivot that makes everything else possible.

The sequencer. I can't believe the usefulness of this amazing thing. Hundreds of actions can be completed and in any amount of time. It solves so much.

Very true. I think I'm in the same boat as Yugi there, I don't think I've ever used a NOT gate! Not more than once or twice...I don't really understand how they work

The only use I've found for nodes is to use them to make a Disabler Gate. Very handy I might add. Wish I knew about that while making Lights Out.

Getting back to NOT Gates, I remember when I first did the tutorial for NOT Gates I thought the exact same thing as you guys, "why the hell would that ever be useful?". I can assure you though they are very useful. The tutorials are pretty shit in LBP2 as nothing is ever explained in proper detail.
Basically the output of a NOT Gate is always opposite of it's input. Sounds pointless right? I mean why not just invert whatever you would normally use as a trigger? But what if you want one input to trigger multiple outputs of different on/off states?

An example:

Yugi tested a Fuse Box mini-puzzle for me the other day. You need to use a cursor to pick up fuses and place them in their correct slots on the fuse board. I used 2 Followers for each of the 9 fuses. So each fuse has a microchip and on that microchip I placed 2 Followers. 1 Follower is set to follow a tag on the cursor and the other is set to follow a tag on the back wall of all possible slots.Then I added a NOT Gate and connected it to the Follower that follows the Slots tag. I connected the X Button from the Controllinator to the NOT Gate and also connected it straight into the Follower that follows the Cursor tag.
So the means that the Follower that follows the slots tag is always on but when you press X it'll turn the Slots Follower off and turn on the Cursor Follower instead.
So basically when the player presses X when the cursor is over a fuse the fuse will pop out of it's slot and stay on the cursor, when the player lets go of X over a slot the fuse will automatically snap into place within the slot.

As Mnmfan fan said. They are very usefull in case you have one output and this output should activate some component, but deactivate the other ones.

I found them little usefull on more complex microchips. In case you have one output connected to lets say 10 inputs on the other side of the microchip. When you have too many wires on the chip it is sometimes using crazy paths and causing huge lags to find them if you move some component. So in such (rare) cases I found usefull leading one wire from output to the node near the inputs. And then connecting this one node to those 10 inputs. It can make the chip much more organized (at least better than using paths the game choose automatically) and speed up the modifications.

my favorite thing in LBP2 is the Sackbots. Logic doesn't work well with me (A.K.A. I fail at logic ) I'm actually a movie maker. I don't make complex levels where people press a button which causes an electrical surge, opens a door, summons a Sackbot, and starting a boss fight all at once. I'm the guy who goes "cameras. sackbots. simple landscapes. barely any logic. movie."
