But ugh, this point based system is driving me insane. It's a versus level, and I'm looking for a set of logic which says something like this:

If Player X has a higher score (measured by number of tags detected by two different tag sensors, one red and one green) than Player Y, then give 100 points to Player X, and vice versa if Player Y has a higher score.

I can't seem to think of a way to do this, because for some bizarre reason they neglected to include an IF gate in all the logic tools

Technically all Gates are IF Gates. If it's input is active it activates something.

I believe there might be even very simple solution (but I dont have so muc hexperience with this kind of stuff. So I will just try to point you in right direction)

Do you know, that LBP2 is not using just binary signal? It is using also analog signals. The word ALSO is very important, because each connecitno is actually transmiting both at the same time (because base on the source they are not always converted same time. For example player swithc is 1 binary if analog siganl is 1%-100% = player is anywhere in the range. But timer is binary 1 only if the analog is 100% = timer is completelly full).

This analog system is hidden (it would be probably very difficult to handle for some creators) but is intended exactly for your situation.

Here is my theoreticla solution for your problem: (it should work, if Im not wrong):

1) Insteed of the red and green tags to measuer the score use simple counter (set it to 100 for example). Just connect the input to same source as you have now for emiting/activating tags.

2) The counter is emiting binary 1 only when full. But it is also emiting analog signal showing equal to percentage how full it is. So half full emitor is emiting binary 0, but 50% analog signal.

3) Connect these both counters (one for each player) to the directional combiner. its a component that is basically substracting one signal from another. So if first i 1 and secon 0 than output is 1. If fist is zero and second is 1, than output is -1 (thats whats explained in the tutorial). But it works for the analog signal as well. If first input is analog 20% and second is analog 30%, the output will be -10%.

4) And here you almost have your solution. The positive signal mean, the first counter has higher value. The negative signal mean the second one has the bigger value. Now you need to recognize it.

5) So connect the output of the directional combiner to the directional splitter. This component work in the way, that it return magnitude of the signal. If it is positive, it goes from first output. If it is negative, it goes from second. So input 50% will result in 50% output from first output. But -40% will result in +40% output from the second output.

And there you are. based on the active output you know who has bigger score and you can connect it to any other functions.

Just be aware, that output of that splittle will be analog one. So it might not work for all components as expected! (the score giver may not activate at 30% signal)
To solve this problem, place two other mircochips on your microchip. And put battery on each on (set to 100% - its by default). And connect outputs of these splitter to activate the whole microchips. That way - in case the output of the splittle is anywhere from 1-100% it will activate the propper microchip = the propper 100% batery signal will be activated for your next action.


it might see dificult. But whole solution is about 8 components. Wihtout any tags etc.

If you are really into the editor I suggest to go study some tutorial about at least basics of the analog logic. It is very powerfull and interesting. Almost all components can work with the analog signal (even AND, OR, NOT gates has specific functions for it. And it not just "Output is one, if all outputs are 1" - there is more into it). And most of the object are emiting analog signal (senzors, timers, counters) and many object can use it (not just a motors for the speed. But even tag/tag senzor can be used for wireless transmission of the analog signal magnitude. You can use it to regulate speed of the counters. Or brightness of some materiall etc.)

And in many situation - by using tow or three components in analog way can solve very complex problems.

I've done all the tutorials and read through this thread and its helped alot with making a cut scene but I'm still having a few problems. Hopefully this makes sense, haha...

What I want to do is:
When the level begins a cut scene starts immediately. It will then show a sackbot playing a part of the level. There's 5 different camera's which pan from one to another, following the sackbot. Each camera angle has instructions. Afterwards the player starts the level.

But my problem is:
At the moment I'm using the magic mouth (the speech bubble.) I have each mouth connected to each camera so when it pans to a different angle a new bit of text comes up. I have each camera angle for 5 seconds but each speech bubble only stays on screen for about 2 secs which is not enough time to read it.
What I would like to do is have subtitles which changes automatically. How would I do this??

The emiting sounds unnecessary. You know, you can attach the tags to the wires and activate them this way?
And you might not need tags at all for this.
Player 1 pres the button - it will acivate one output of the selector.
Player two will press another button - and you will ust compare if it is coresponding with the current selector output.

If you tell an emitter to shoot solid bullets with impact sensors at about .5s per shot, then it should work. Theres no reason why it shouldn't be sure to give it good push as well.

And Mnm, emitting a hologram with a tag on it is good. Then when the other player presses a button and that corresponding tag is live, then it will make certain things happen. Whatever you want really. It seams simple enough already.
