Help on Extending wireless signal.

I've been looking around trying to figure out ways to boost my signals, from reading about amplifiers to repeaters.

The current signal I get is fairly poor as it starts off at one end of the house and the signal has to go through at least one wall just to reach the center of the house where my current setup is at.

I am using a dlink wbr-2310 to send the signal.

I am willing to buy some things if it can help extend the range to past the center of the house and all the way to the other end (live in a minihome), the problem is I don't know if what I buy would work or if it would need other purchases with it to make it work.

Any guidance from someone that has a much better idea of how to get things to work out would be much appreciated.

Well I only ever get one signal which is from my router, it's rare that I ever get another signal due to having only 1-2 houses that nearby that even send a signal, but they are far away for me so it rarely ever reaches.
