PSN, how long before you'd switch to an Xbox?

Never, XBL has had about 6 down times that went this long, I know because all my mates came over to my house to play PS3, plus the 360 is a dodgy ass console in terms of durability.

Why don't we all just switch to PC? Free online, custom servers (and server mods!), downloaded games (through Steam, so you can't lose or scratch the discs), higher player cap in some games (like Battlefield Bad Company 2 with a 32 player cap, and Battlefield 3 with a 64 player cap!), better graphics, and more!

Plus, Steam has sales all the time. I just got GTAIV plus Episodes of Liberty City for only 10 bucks!

And don't whine about having a crappy computer. The money you would normally spend on a console could just go toward buying a good computer. I built a computer a few months ago that can run Black Ops, COD4, Portal 2, Minecraft, etc. on max, and BF:BC2 and GTAIV on medium. It was $600 USD, including the monitor and operating system (Windows 7 Professional). That means the computer itself only cost about $400. It runs beautifully, and is super fast. And since it's a gaming computer, it does everything else super fast too!

So anyway, you can spend $200-300 on a crappy computer and then spend another $200-300 on a console, or spend $400-600 on a great computer and console in one, with more features, more customizability, and better graphics!

Xbox live is the 360's version of PSN yes.

Yes, you can use controllers on the PC (although the mouse gives a lot of precision). I know that you can just plug wired 360 controllers right into a USB port, but I'm sure there are PS3 controllers for PC too.

I considered getting an Xbox controller too, but I actually got used to the keyboard with just a few hours of playing. In case you didn't know, you can assign any function to any key (or any button on your mouse, which is when a gaming mouse comes in handy). Seriously, mice with buttons on them make things so much easier.

Really? Cause I don't remember any of those.

and Chekka, I like to play games with my friends who are mostly on the 360. Also, I'm accustomed to a controller and prefer not having to deal with the technical issues of PC gaming.

You can use a Xbox or PS3 controller.

I'm sorry, but whoever forks out £200 for the console, £30 for XBL and £50+ to get a few games just because PSN is down is a sad, sad man.
