alright, what people said on the post about SS its true that its jack of all trades, role switching and all, also its true it wont be the best, but atleast one thing it is, its all roles mixed into one, it may not be the best choice for those who wants to optimize but its the best choice as a 2ndary role to what is needed when others are not a specified role. like what they say on the pro side, its role of all, and the cons side, it'll never be optimal. but its a good choice when you need someone to take over a role incase something messes up, good for protecting others from adds, or distraction even, can solo depending on what your fighting, but not the best choice.

the thing about SS is that it has more damage then spear but less damage then LS, in terms of magic it has more damage then spirit build healers, but less damage then int build mages, its good to have if you cant use elemental and your a sword mage as SS but you will be sacrificing alot of MP as this role because you dont have the same passive from the staff to reduce the cost and increase spell cast speed, when using SS you are basically jack of all trades, the one benefit out of it is when switching weapons between the SS weapon catagory you will not lose any CC by switching between 1 handed weapons aka 1h axe, 1h sword and dagger (aka Shortsword for some reason in the description). but atleast its not useless in any way possible.

To be honest I think they don't help much. I don't think you can have armor with more than 1 elemental resistance.

They help, a lot. I have a good set for water resistance and can tank (I play SS 95% of the time) the Kracken in WF2 all day long as long as the Efreet doesn't notice me. With a high base RES and the additional elemental resistance to water, even the big elemental attacks are easily withstood. The biggest problem I havr is getting knocked around in the light high RES armor. But even with lower base RES, that elemental resistance has a good effect. I don't have the numbers to prove it, but my experience tells me it's worth considering as one of the factors when choosing an armor to use against a particular enemy.

Back in the WKC1 days I actually made 5 good shields and enhanced 4 of them with an element each, so I could switch between fire, water, air and earth resistance as needed, plus have a good general purpose shield. It mean carrying a lot of shields, but they worked. Admittedly when I got better armor and shields, there was less to worry about and I stopped carrying the elemental shields.

Quick question, does an element on a dagger effect the magic casting power of it?

I'm planning on making 4 elemental daggers for fun, but say I want to cast? Say I have my ice dagger equipped, will it negatively effect my fire spells?

I don't think so cuz the staff don't benefit from that either but it's good to have elemental knives for hitting.
