I like the guild armours, they give good stats and they are not so hard to upgrade to +15. I dont think more than +15 is necessary, but if you have a lot of rares geostones go to +20.

Since I've been wondering for a while if I am missing something and this seems the place to ask...

What's the deal with the Wraith Boots II? Why is every mage wearing them? Is it because they give slightly more DEF than any light piece with INT?

I'm asking because in my mind, the couple points of extra INT wouldn't really help with attacking power since the circle speed would be 0.15 seconds slower than, say, when using Demon King boots.

I know the differences would be minor either way, so I guess my question is, am I missing something or is it personal preference?

Originally it was meant to offset the negative HP penalty from Veda as well as add a bit of defense for those squishy mages. Now since many have True King Staffs, its use is mainly for defense and possibly the sleep resistance but only in certain places such as Kibbles 2.

To go from Demon King to Wraith Boots you gain 22 DEF.

That said, combining TK staff + non-MP gears hurts mages when they're spamming their Eclipse Gate. Sure you hit more. You also have to either Mana Parasite, use potions, or +Spirit's Blessing more often as well.

I prefer the Spectral armor and tassets combined with Ashura hands and feet. the Ashura hands and feet can't be beat for their combination of AGI and DEX - as you said. My build is focused on high AGI for enhanced dodging and high DEX for higher accuracy, more criticals and being resistant to any attack that lowers my accuracy. I use the Royal Tiara instead of the Minerva wings as I dislike the penalty on the DEX. I also carry my TK bow and a couple of light armor pieces (White Tiger top and Mermaid pareo), so I can go all the way from the 929 DEF tank to a more lightly armored archer all in the same quest, and reconfigure to multiple options within that range.

I think I am aiming at the following pieces;

Ashura hands & feet at +20. Total +44 AGI and +44 DEX, 358 DEF and 62 RES
Robin 2 top and skirt at +20. Total +19 STR, +19 AGI, +19 VIT, +19DEX, 350DEF ad 66 RES

That base set would give +708 DEF, +125 RES, +19 STR, +19 VIT, +63 AGI, +63 DEX. The VIT adds on to the DEF giving an effective DEF of 727.

In addition I think that the following pieces would merit attention by melee players focusing on AGI/DEX and who want fast turns (Stats for +20);

White Tiger armor top piece : 157 DEF, 65 RES, +22 AGI
Nereid Rings : 150 DEF, 68 RES, +22 VIT, +22 DEX - effective DEF 172
Sensui gloves : 158 DEF, 63 RES, +23 SPR, +23 AGI - effective RES 86

The Toad 'armor' top for female avatars is similar to the white tiger, and entirely more like body paint than armor, but useful for some occasions...

Of course you'd balance which pieces you use based on weapon, shield, armor and accessories. I believe that it should be relatively easy to put together a light set that has a DEF over 840 with a RES in the 460+ range, along with nice boosts to STR, SPR, VIT, AGI and/or DEX.

All this makes for a very flexible - and light - SS/Bow armor set. The only disadvantage to the light set is you get knocked around a bit. You can counter this a little by mixing in some of the Robin2, Ashura or spectral to increase the weight of the armor.

one of reasons why i dont bother spirit hymn meleers,

every meleer i see only has 1 piece of mp, or none at all. cant hit those big numbers with low mp

guessing as well majority of meleers are using heal4 ,

i use sword as my second class other then bow and i dont have no divine skills on bar apart from heal 2, heal+, raise, fate, angel refresh, holy light and slow (bow bar is similar but healers hymn is replace instead of heal 2)

already posted my bow gear and i hardly seen any bow players with 600mp+.

for my bow armour, dont bother with nice dex or agi, can still survive, plus i hardly miss with 114dex and most of time i dont get aggro on me (camoflague, love it!)
I can always switch wraith gloves for ashura 20+ or spectral gloves that give str and agi but it's 40 mp gone if wraith gloves gets removed

It's really more about being able to do more actions without having to stop and replenish MP constantly. Not everyone is around multiple mages/bows (or good players in general) who can share and help with the support duties of the group.

I'm sure people can see the difference between a melee player with 250-350 MP (250 because some people don't take MP passives or wear Titan for some reason) vs. a player with 400-500MP during a quest for example. Likewise, a mage with a combination of Grimoire/Wraith with ~700 MAG, 472MP will spend more time in need of MP vs. a mage with ~680 MAG, 615MP.

The t4 --> t3 elemental thing is pretty cool.
