	Log in to remove this advertisement Axe- arm shatter. SS-arm break. Elemental Magic- N/A Divine Magic- N/A Staff- N/A LS- Anchor Blade Bow- Dark Shot. Spear- +Inert Field. (Magic based classes have no class-exclusive debuffs, thus not mentioned in the list) Every class is encouraged to compliment their unique debuffs w/ others like slow, mollify, and more.

	For LS don't forget Magic Breaker and Spirit Breaker.

	I would say that conflagration, inundation, electrocution, and disintegration are elemental magic specialty debuffs. Add +holy light for divine magic. It may not have any debuffs, but zero reset is an important skill specific to staff. ------------------- Currently playing Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen and Guild Wars 2.

	I put more than one debuff as most useful debuff, because they're equally important. Axe- arm shatter and armor shatter (greatly reduces atk and def) SS-arm break and armor break (reduces atk and def) Elemental Magic- Conflagration, Electrocution, Disintegration and Inundation (elemental weakening is a debuff, the AOE versions are too expensive though) Divine Magic- Fatigue, mollify and slow (the AOE versions are slow to cast, so only mages can use them easily) Staff- N/A (I don't know if there's a debuff on that weapon) LS- Anchor Blade (magic breaker if the monster can cast magic, spirit breaker if mages are in the team) Bow- Dark Shot. (must have skill) Spear- +Inert Field.(it's the only one, so it's obviously the best)

	I think shackle is in elemental magic (or divine), not directly in the staff skills.

If you are going to play for speed, at least know the 1 most useful debuff for your particular class. I should have probably called the Thread that.. I'm 100% w/ you Alkor.

	Eh..? If you're after speed to kill things the fastest, Axe's one shouldn't be Arm Shatter but Armour Shatter. +Inert Field's a waste once Anchor Blade sets in but Anchor Blade needs some AC to get going - in which case Spirit Breaker's probably better since there's bound to be a mage around. Fatigue and Mollify are better than Sword/Shield Breaker from the Shortsword but can be interrupted so it's not completely useless. But yeah, most DiPped players don't even know that there's such a thing as handicapping your enemies. Most Bows I've met don't even have Dark Shot "It's too expensive to use! Smoke Shot does the same for cheaper and doesn't help out anyway!" But good effort in making this thread.

I thought that the release notes (Japanese) for the skill balancing patch suggested that the effect of arm and shield breaker were the same as Fatigue and Mollify? I haven't noticed a difference in game recently, and it might bear testing out, but I thought that shield breaker and arm breaker had been improved in the skill patch. ------------------- Guild: Nekomimis FTW! 	As an axe player myself, I've found armor shatter useful only in special situations. 1- There's an implicit factor in speed runs which is your party being strong enough to gang up on one enemy and decimate it. There's no need to waste mp, and a turn doing something that will not necessarily speed things up. (Adding 300/400 points of damage doesn't always result in subtracting the # of turns you take to kill an enemy) Crits will always overshadow your armor breaks.. 2- Most attack increasing stances lower your defense, thus arm break will keep your party from having to stop to heal, thus ending in a quicker, more comfortable fight. 3- It is only when you have a dps bow/ plenty of melee players also that armor shatter becomes effective. You said yourself, plenty of mages around, thus no need to waste a turn armor shattering when your next hit (as axe) will be the last, or the enemy will get killed b4 you do anything after that. Not to take away from the skill, it IS vital in GR 26+ quests, but it is a waste in any other "easy" quest.

	Hunh... I guess if you put it that way, it makes more sense. I guess I'm just too used to Adrenaline Rush making most of my turns blend into each other rather than waiting an age for my turn, lol. Oddly enough, only Sword/Shield Breaker (Was it called Arm breaker..? My bad...) can overwrite Fatigue/Mollify despite being the weaker buff. It's not THAT significant but it is something like a 2.5% damage difference. The Japanese release notes are cool and all but since they're on a different "schedule" than ours (they've got like, ten or fifteen updates while we only have one, lol) I'm not sure if you can fully rely on them.

	Now that you bring up fatigue/mollify's higher effect over arm/shield breaker (from SS) I must also ask the questiojn of whether +Support Field (Spear) is as effective as fortify. I remember stacking +SF and Force Field and doing less damage than stacking fortify and Force Field. I am not entirely sure, maybe a spearman could answer that question.

That's true about the differenet schedule. The notes I was referring to were the ones for the major skills patch that Japan got before we got our one. It is, in theory, the same patch. However if there is a minor difference between the two, I will keep the arm breaker/shield breaker since they are not generally interrupted and quite quick to execute. I'll have to remember not to use either if someone else has already cast mollify/fatigue, although at least if I forget the difference is minor. ------------------- Guild: Nekomimis FTW! 	For me (BOW) best de-buffs are dark shot and i'm not sure if this is de-buff but paralysis is best since it stops monsters (of course the one that can be paralyzed) and increase DMG for 10%,i use poison tips on dragons and wyverns since they can't be paralyzed and i also use tier 4 spells to weaken monster element weakness for more DMG (of course i always hope mage will do that but it's very rare to see) as my sub-class LS i use anchor blade,spirit/magic breaker if needed but what i don't understand is out of hundreds LS players i played with maybe 1 used spirit/magic breaker.

As a mage, I don't really care if they use it.
