quest help question for mages

i havent been a mage that long, but im pretty familiar with the in-&-outs. but im confused with phoenix prayer.
i was running vell 6 today and at the boss fight everyone but me got killed and they happened to be close to one another, so i ran in the middle and used the skill. at the same time i was using it i got hit, not killed but hit. then in a flash i fall, quest ends, we fail and everyone gets raised. was this a glitch? or is it that u cant us it if you are the only one left? because i could have sworn when i used it before , they were raised before i fell.

ps. i did notice during the run that there was a chest that was off its normal spot (not centered) so i thought maybe it ways just another great vell glitch.

There have been a few glitches with this skill. I used it in Abyss2 once, and it ended the quest-for some reason it recognizes you as dead before the others are raised. I blame it on lag.

It does off you before the teammates are ressed? I thought it was after...But I just know that you're able to run around even when you're at 0 hp lol, I must be getting it mixed up.

Take carefully a look while you highlight Phoenix Prayer, you'll see the range of where Phoenix Prayer will reach your dead teammates.
So nope, Phoenix Prayer does not 100% ressurect any fallen comrades from where you are, it have a range, it's also the reason why you see some mages running at a certain place while you are yourself dead and waiting them to do something.
Every AoE spell either elemental or divine have a range that you can see with a large circle around you. If you see something highlighting inside your circle, that means it reach your range and it will hit this.

To put an additionnal comment, before using Phoenix Prayer, use yourself a Lifestone so once you use it, you get revived as well but sure with only 25% of max HP while others will be revived with 50% of max HP, it's still better to be alive somehow or to have a 2nd chance to revive your partner.

Also, it always happen to have failed mission even if you were revived at boss fight, it happen to me a lot at RS2, Appex and even Abyss 2.
A partner that do revive me for example and he died at the moment i got revived and the attack is AoE effect, even if i got missed, the stupid game consider it would have already killed me and put failed mission. Sounds like having 130AGI dont let game think you have in fact survive the blow lol.
