DLC quests will become available once you log into PSN, and then return to world map. You do not even need to try to go into GeoNet itself. In fact you don't even need a GeoNet licence, or the Japanese PSN required for redeeming the Geonet Code. Keep in mind though, that even if you might be able to start the new DLC quests offline, just by popping the Japanese game disc in, using your regular PSN account - most of the new quests are GR27-GR50, and you will have no chance doing them alone.

I only need GR30 to platinum, I don't need to do GR50 quests on my main Russian account. I doubt I can do Vell 2-10 solo in time anyway. I like collecting trophies but I have a feeling this game will stuck at 80% or something like that. I will play just for fun on my second Japanese account, that's where I'll get to GR50 and spent another 1000+ hours.

There are so many high GR (20+) quests, that people have problems getting too many pisces quests, as compared to virgo quests for tokens.

Not a problem, it takes less than a minute to start/end FMQ for resetting. Sometimes I even get 1% drops like Windspider Gland in the reward box with these quick D ranks

By the way how you deal with Japanese language (if you don't know it)? There are some realy easy to remember characters (弓 = bow, 土 = earth etc.), but all drops, weapons, armors, skills, quest names have combinations of some katakana characters, do you remember them by heart?

well i guess everyone learns in their own way. the main way i learned what to look for was memorizing the last character(s) involved and associating it to something i would recognize. ex. bones are 5-6 characters long and the last one looks like a 'scrubbing bubble' the binding list helps with weapons/armors. skills shouldnt be a problem. quest names are very important, IMO, to remember. many times if you enter a room that is generic or for 'GR' you will get very frustrated. many people stand around for what seems like forever. whether they are talking about strategy, socializing, or waiting on someone to be a spear, who knows because i have only picked up on a few sayings. in a room that is for a specific quest, you should have a much less wait time for questing. as a general rule, that room is for the number of people for that quest. there are exceptions of course. and its never fool proof going to a specific room. if the quest calls for a spear, and there isn't one in the room, then there's this sense of 'ok, who should leave' then you hope that the next person entering can spear. locals will not run a quest that needs a spear without one. you will stand there, waiting. 'boss' starts the quest. whether that be the maker of the room or the spear. which kinda bugs me because i think it should be the person with the best upload speed on their internet. if all else fails... bookmark the jp wiki and toggle between translate if need be, so you can see the original text and your own language

the way i see it is there are 3 main classes and 3 sub classes.
axe, ls, and mage make up typical main classes for most.
bow, ss, and spear are usually used as a sub.

i dont follow this pattern as my mage/bow build never seemed to have enough sp to do everything i wanted. and im hoping that by gr 50 i will be able to grab everything i want from both.

you wont see many that are one pure role. most people that i know that spear only grab a few skills beyond what you need to get the passives. many people are 'able' to spear if need-be. most of the time the poor folks that have to spear usually just threaten and defend. this of course doesn't apply to all.

axe's do what they do. crack things wide open. not many go for the str build but rather dump massive points into dex. low hp axes in death-restriction quests are rare.

ls's use the buffs/debuffs properly and generally go for a str/dex build. i dont see alot of 20mp moves come from them. im no expert in axe's or ls's so maybe someone else can chime in.

mage's are the jack of all in my opinion. they buff, debuff when needed, elem down, clear the mobs, bless, etc. most mages here do what mages should.... a little bit of everything.

ss's are few and far between. i happen to see more gr50 ss's than lower gr's. maybe its because they are bored? or want to show what they can do with a sub-class, idk. but they are out-classed in so many situations that i think people shy away from it.

misc.

i see a few people use elemental down spells when they are clearly not a mage. its rare not to have a mage in your party but i will give the locals something, and that is they come prepared.

everyone (but me ) seems to have a weapon for every type of boss. whether it be an elemental or killer.

people dont spam eg unless they have to. if it can be weakened they will do so.

the way most set-up their towns is pretty clever. setting up fences or flower pots to prevent a npc from getting in the way. many have the 'everything' town which is very helpful, especially early on.

agi isnt necessarily a must have anymore with spears around.
res can be ignored for many quests later in the game. most of the ones people spam for the best equipment really only needs def, with the exception of the lamia quest for the purple stuff or the crystals in the knight quest, but then again they are spear quests so they get the brunt of it.
