wiki news WKC 2 Wiki - News, Suggestions and Updates

First of all a big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the White Knight Chronicles and WKC2 Wikis - You are helping drive this superb community forward and setting us up to be the premier source of information for this amazing game.

The purpose of this thread is to keep an up-to-date listing of what is going on with the WKC2 Wiki and to, where possible, co-ordinate work on the various sections so various contributors do not step on each other's toes. This is also a thread where your suggestions for the overall layout, what material/sections you would like included and other ideas are welcomed.

Required Additions

The main areas which we require new pages or additional content (please feel free to suggest additional ones and thank you to everyone who has suggested items already):

• WKC2 Bestiary Entries - (These can be made in existing WKC1 pages for existing creatures and additional pages made for the WKC2 additions)
• WKC2 Quest Guides - I have made a start on these, but there is still a large number of Quests and Vellgander to cover.
  • Quest Rewards for Quests - As we all know, not everything drops on our runs of a quest, so please feel free to add any additional drops you receive from your runs of a quest.
• WKC2 Equipment - There has been some superb contributions in this already, thank you to everyone who has added to this section already. I am sure this list will expand as players gain GR and have access to the later Knight Equipment for example.
• Images - There are several sections which will require images, including the Skill Tables (with the revised Skill Icons), new Enemy Types, Quest Images and Maps/Diagrams for some Quests.

If you think you can offer any of the above, go ahead and add/edit the Wiki!

I've already discussed this with some of the admins and as WKC2 is technically the completion of the WKC1 story, there is no need for a second wiki which will just duplicate information. Another thing to remember is that when WKC2 goes live, the old WKC1 (with the previous system) will become obsolete and any changes made in WKC2 will become the 'norm' in terms of information.

I'm going to probably create a WKC2 Header to link between the WKC2 specific pages and append data to the WKC1 pages where possible. (The skill pages will be separate as there are some key differences in their layout - Mainly to do with the removal of stat. dependencies outside STR and INT and the inclusion of Skill AC outside of combos and Skill AC within a combo.)

There are some subtle changes to how the WKC1 quests are handled in WKC2 - For example, you can not get an S Rank in Best Served Cold by rushing to the Boss fight, and you are required to complete the Sub-Quest.

When WKC2 goes online, WKC1 goes offline - So all the changes made in the second 'true' game will be the ones everyone will be wanting to reference. I will keep a backup of the old page Wiki text and replace it with the updated information (for the most part) to save the confusion. As for what other contributors do, I can not say, but I propose changes are appended to a page (under a WKC2 heading) where possible and once the details are confirmed regarding the old game disc (WKC1), then the old data can be replaced in favour of the updated 'current' information. (The headings will have to remain in place until all the regions transfer over from WKC1 to WKC2.)

I will try and keep my contributions as clear, concise and visible (discernible from the WKC1 entries too) as possible, but if anyone has any layout suggestions, please feel free to post them.

I have kept pretty much the design of the original WKC page (it was very well laid-out), but streamlined the main block.

(Have a look at the WKC2 Banner I uploaded and tell me what you think - It was a 5-minute job on Photoshop, but I think it came out well.)

Thank you for all the messages and PMs of support from many of the users' of these boards - I truly appreciate your words, and any suggestions are very welcome.

Us americans are really gonna be looking forward to and counting on the europeans contributions to wkc2 wiki info =P

Same here. The wiki is great but sometimes its good not to have to use the computer.
