How dare PC gamers hog the video games all to themselves! Well, anyway, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is now available for Mac, according to 2K, meaning those of you who are absolutely dedicated to your Apple products can now play the strategy-action hybrid shooter, too.
2K Games is working with TransGaming on the XCOM Declassified port, which came about thanks to the company's software translation technology "Cider." It's been used many times for bringing games from PC to Mac.
Of course, TransGaming is quite happy to have the sole distribution and publishing rights for XCOM Declassified on Mac. CEO Vikas Gupta comments:
"We collaborated with 2K to deliver the same intensity that fans have come to expect from The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, now for the Mac platform. With sole publishing and distribution rights for the title on Mac, TransGaming continues to solidify its position as the leader in the Mac gaming market with an impressive game portfolio and our innovative Cider technology."
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified works a sort of prequel to 2K Games' wildly successful strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown, from 2012. The game tells an origin story for the XCOM organization, and borrows some elements from the previous XCOM title -- only as a shooter, instead.
