2K is still keeping silent on what "The Bureau" is about, but rumors of it being the new name for XCOM seem more than likely. Now, a new teaser adds fuel to the fire, and there's talk of the game's re-reveal as The Bureau on April 26.
We're referring to the shooter, of course, that's been in development for much longer than it should have been. With the success of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, however, 2K may have laid some decent groundwork for the sci-fi shooter.
That said, with the XCOM FPS having such a checkered development history, it'd make sense for 2K to consider distancing it from the successful strategy brand. Hence, the possibility of The Bureau being the new brand of the XCOM shooter.
So about that teaser; it's a short video featuring a young boy in suburban America. We don't actually see aliens, but it's safe to assume aliens are involved.
I know what you're thinking: "How does that imply any kind of reveal, much less on what day!"
An apt question. At the end of the teaser, during the skipping effect, you'll notice a blank green screen pop up. Without pausing, one might not notice anything special about the screen, but if you take a closer look, the side bar shows a date, along with "2K."
