2K's XCOM FPS that was shown at E3 2010 is about to reemerge from the woodwork according to various reports across the internets. Only this time, it's going to be called The Bureau and it's being developed by 2K Marin instead of 2K Australia. Mystery boxes full of "confidential material" and assorted other press materials -- a lighter and an ashtray. The documents heavily imply an association with the XCOM FPS.
That's really all there is to say. We didn't receive a mystery box at Neoseeker headquarters, so we're not able to confirm everything we've heard, but we still believe there's an announcement imminent. The new mystery is where the FPS disappeared to for the past three years.
Originally the XCOM FPS was announced for PC and Xbox 360. It's very likely the game hasn't jumped console generations in the past three years, so its platforms are likely to remain the same, unless they've added PS3 to the list. Also, we wouldn't be surprised if the game was planned for release before the next gen hits, so perhaps some time this fall? We'll update you with anything we hear on The Bureau.
