[B-] I believe my biggest issue with this sprite is that I can easily tell what Pokemon were made to use it. The trick to making a new Pokemon through fusion is so it doesn't look like an prexsisting Pokemon. I can tell that there's an Umbreon and Cubone used, and while the horn and tail I can't recognize, it's not enough to cover up the Umbreon and Cubone.

[A-] Fusing-wise, I don't see much problem, except for maybe the Staraptor head-piece, where it doesn't connect well. Overall I like it, and love the color choice, but I'm seeing a bit too much Lucario still. Maybe switching out a different head or face would make all the difference. I know it's supposed to be a Lucario rival, but I'm getting that just through the body structure.

The tail is a bit lumpy in the middle, though I can't help but feel that was done on purpose. I'm still not a fan of the lumpy tail. The ears are also annoyingly short for my taste, but these are all little things. Overall I'm quite pleased with this sprite.

[B+] This sprite's pretty much has a similar critique to 4EverSeaMusic's. I know it's a Celebi rival, but it still reminds me a lot of just Celebi. The reason for the slightly lower grade though is the headpiece. It looks stuck on, it's not adding much to the sprite, it's large and taking your attention away from the rest of the sprite, and I can easily tell it's Ho-Oh's. I'd swap it out for something a little smaller and less attention-demanding.

[C+] You have to be careful with overly-round Pokemon. It looks unnatural, so unless you're going for unnatural (ie Electrode) then it's usually better to go for a more oval shape. Otherwise, it helps to over-exaggerate the facial features, like Jigglypuff's large eyes. Other problems is the shading, which in round Pokemon should take up about a third of the body; the arms, one looks connected below the ear, while the other looks connected behind the ear; and the feet, one of which is unshaded and flat looking.

Marrowak to Rock

Brodeo, you're going to love me for this, mostly because it's Sceptile.

Sceptile to Water, a HUGE improvement over the one I entered in the Soulsilver tournament a week or two ago.

A Togetic water re-type, which I entered into the recent Soul Silver tournament.

Judging

Theme was to create a retype. Retypes are can be tricky to judge, as sometimes being simple can be just as effective as a sprite with a lot of bells and whistles. It's a fine line to walk.

Unfortunately, a last minute family emergency came up, so judging is going to be fairly quick today. If you'd like more in-depth C+C, then send me a PM and I'd be glad to evaluate your sprite more thoroughly when I get time.

[C-] Fire retypes can be one of the biggest traps to new spriters. There's always some want to put Charizard wings on everything, even though it doesn't add anything to the retype and usually looks awkward on the sprite. Also, the tail should go behind the wing, not in front.

[A] I'm seeing this more as a Ghost/Psychic retype than a Dark/Psychic. In fact, you could really just drop the Alakazam arms and just make it a Ghost retype. But either way, it's still a great retype.

[B-] The biggest problem here is that there's no colored outline. The rock head looks good, but the bone colored spike on the back of its hand just looks confusing and not needed.

[A+] A great example of simple, yet effective. The small changes made to the collar, headpiece, and expression really make it feel like a dark type without going overboard without cliche "dark" accessories, like added claws and fangs. Good job!

[B] This sprite's okay, but nothing special. The fin tail looks fairly flat (though that may have been the point) and the front edge looks jagged. The added head spikes don't add anything watery to the sprite.

[B+] Electricity can be one of the hardest things to sprite. This isn't bad, but it could use some improvement to look a little more evenly distributed. The right side of the bulb isn't as smooth and round as the left, and there appears to be two sources of light.
