Pretty good guide.

There are a couple Pokemon that are better for Sp Attack and Sp Defense, though: Heatmor (Sp Attack) and Claydol (Sp Defense) give 2 EVs each.

You can find Claydol in the Relic Castle, down in the room where you fight Volcarona; you have to have beaten Ghetsis to get here.

Heatmor is found in Victory Road, in the cracked ground sections outside the caves.

And I do know one thing... the next Generation better not have Gen V's Berry system!

Hey guys, this is my first time using this forum andtrying to EV train, and I just want to see if I understood everything correctly.

If I am going to level up a Beldum from level 1 which has a Rash personality into a metagross eventually, and I want to raise its special attack stat, and Im using the bracelet or w/e that gives it 4 EV's.

If I defeat 1 litwick, it will give me 1 EV, plus 4 EV's correct?

But before I do any battling, it would be better to use 10 stat increasing items...like the zinc or iron or w/e it is for SP Attack first, because they only work for the first 100 points?

If thats the case, then after using 10 stat boosting items to get to 100 EV's, I would then battle approximately 30 times for a total of 250 EV's. However since the max amount of EV's per stat is 255, and I can still get 252 EV's for SP Attack, I would then take the bracelet off, and then battle litwick 2 more times for a total of 2 extra EV's which would bring me to 252 EV's for SP Attack?

Once that question is settled, I have another question about the leveling up and how the stats are given and what happens at level 100.

From what I have heard here its that you need to get to lvl 100 before you can see the full effect of your EV training. Now I might just not be that great of a player, but having to wait till lvl 100 to see if I havent messed up or not is quite disheartening. I guess my question is this, are the EV's given to my Pokemon in a proportional manner? Apparently you dont see them in the level ups, but after the level up when you check their stats again?

And another thing. How does Exp Share come into play here? If i have a pokemon besides beldum defeat a litwick but not have beldum out, will he get the 5 EV's?

Or does Beldum have to have participated in the battle?

Or does Beldum have to defeat the foe, pretty sure its just participated.

Also, my Beldum's nature is Rash...now I really wasnt planning to see how his nature affects it....but I guess I might as well ask...how does it affect the EV's? Not sure if I read correctly, but it gives 10 percent increase or something? Not sure

So let me get this straight.

I obtained a Shiny Level 1 Axew via trade, Adamant Nature, Near-Perfect IVs, UT.

I EV trained it via the EXP share - 252 Attk EV's, 252 HP EV's, 6 Speed EV's.

Did I necessarily go wrong training it via EXP Share? Did it still get any EV's from the experience it gained?

I went ahead and counted those EVs, painstakingly keeping track with pen and paper. I had previously trained using actual effort with my old team, never even having thought of the EXP share. But now that those are all level 100, I figured I'd take the easy route and let my new team ride on the easy kills of my old team. I was just making sure that using the EXP share wasn't going to somehow nerf the amount of EVs I got.

Yeah nice guide. I've tried ev trianing but not that much. I'm planning on ev trianing a shiny growlithe when I get a shiny one. But it's taking a while to do so. But again nice guide

No, I believe you get the +4 on top of any other ev's.
